I have taken the username and passsword part of the letter out..so no one could use this letter other then informational purposes....

cool.. i was kinda hopin someone would actually post a screen of this, but i thought it would be too rude to ask, since you are technically not supposed to tell anyone about it :sweat:

one part that has not been quoted is the "great deal of testing" part. that gets my hopes down :(
i was hoping this was going to be a fast clean thing, but they are making it seem like its not going to be that :dead:

Well, one I got this, I filled out the online form and then got this message:

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for completing the Private PlayOnline(TM), Tetra Master(TM),
FINAL FANTASY(R) XI Closed Beta Test application.

We'll be reviewing the applications and choosing potential testers
across a wide range of criteria including ISP, MMORPG experience,
and technical and language expertise. The Closed Beta Test is a
test across North America with the Japanese client only. This is
NOT to be mistaken for a North American beta test for PlayOnline.

If you're accepted as a potential candidate into the Closed Beta
Test you'll receive a return email with further steps within the
coming weeks. Please note if you do not receive an email within
the next couple weeks don't despair, keep an eye on www.playonline.com
for information on other beta tests we may hold in the future.

Please note, due to the fact that this is a Closed Beta Test, the
existence of this test is confidential. We're unfortunately unable
to answer questions via email, web, or phone on any specifics of this test at this time.

I'm with you, Pai Pai. And thanks to Master Spazz for an actual look at what many of us dream about getting. I was bummed out after the first wave of those e-mails were sent, and me not getting one. And now I'm even more bummed out for not getting one on the 2nd wave. Why did they send a 2nd wave anyways? Did they not get enough people on the 1st one? I just want them to get this beta test over with and release FFXI. Oh, well. Good luck FF_Spazz on getting accepted, hope you enjoy the testing. :thumbsup:

Well, no one has yet to provide any proof that they are beta testing (that I know of)...SO I went ahead and posted a screenshot of my letter I got...Hopefully it's big enough that you can read it...thanks for the support!! Don't worry, I will be writing a journal here really soon!!

Man... I have nothing but love for Squaresoft, but some of the English in that letter was just plain awful.

They're Square, you'd think they could afford a decent business writer. :(

i got one one of the applications in my email and i filled it out so i kinda feel lucky. i dint know all of u people wanted it posted on exactly what it said tho. if i did then i would have posted it on here. o well, somebody beat me to it. still no reply from square whether i will be included in the testing or not. ill keep u guys informed.

Wow, and I still don't believe you. Basically, that is the same thing I posted except there are different dates, you showed the webaddress, and it looks like it's not an e-mail. And if you have the beta, like you've already said: Why post a letter that EVERYONE got. Why don't you post something like a box or disc or something... I think this time he is telling the truth. Because alot of other people have gotten that email, just never posted it on here. I even tried the website that it had said to go to. It needed a user name and a password. This time, he is telling the truth. Nice work my friend. Now, if you just post that user name and password on here, you will totally redeem yourself.

The application website was leaked at GameFAQ's FFXI boards... Not too hard to piece something like that together. He's still full of crap. Period.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he didn't get an application. (even though the one he posted is a fake) Here's what I am saying: he hasn't gotten accepted yet, he does not have a beta kit in his posession, and he did not e-mail Squaresoft to get get his hands on an application. All of which were lies earlier posted by him. Now if he's lied so many times, I'm lead to believe that he doesn't have an application either. But you know, you can only prove what you can prove.

Yup I think hes a crock still aswell, Ive seen that posted on 4 ffxi sites already, can easily be saved and reposted on another forum. This is the same guy who said he was "beta testing right now!!!!", and who could tell us his stats an location. Oh and he got accepted to beta by emailing square................next he will be telling us his mum/uncle/step dad/brother/cousin/dog/goldfish etc works at square. FF_Spazz give it up mate, your rep isnt intact.

Maybe he did some work on that acutal picture, but they did send out another wave of beta forms. Many people before Spazz have said they got it, and it must send it back before the 17th. Yea, I know he lied before... But I know that this email isnt a fake. You can test out the websites posted in the letter for yourself... they worked for me. But I need a username and password :( :( :(

It is possible for them to have sent out a second wave of e-mails, yes. I'm not saying he didn't get one. But the websites he posted are the same sites that were in my e-mail, and the same sites that were posted at GameFAQs. As far as I know, he hasn't done anything to prove himself yet. If he got an application, (which I doubt) great, so did like 30 other people on this board. But he hasn't been accepted yet. And that's all I want to say.

ff spazz, i highly recommend deleting the post with the sign up password and stuff, so as Square doesnt come down on u like a fat guy from the top of a building. that, and so that square will want to release more games around here, and not be hassled with people giving out passwords and stuff. so, once again, delete your post with the password and sign in name thingy.

Not to mention those who use that user name and password wont even have their app looked at, the email clearly states that anyone who replies with a different email wont get accepted... and if you fill out more then one app your apps get canceled...

Does anyone know if anyone got accepted from the first wave of emails? Or if Square just didnt get that many replies(doubt that would of happend)?

lol, and what did you just prove? How bout that temporary username/password you were using into FFXI? How bout those boxes you had shipped seperately? How about all those people you were hanging out with in-game? All that closed-beta username and password does is tell us:

a) You found it posted somewhere.
b) You got a friend that told you.

Square has been sending email invitations to people with playonline accounts. Check your email: but just being registered at playonline isn't a sure thing - it seems that the people selected were randomly chosen.

I've been a member there for a few months and have spent about $150 on old PSone games. Maybe the fact that Id spent money their helped me get picked. Probably not though, since people are saying that its just random.
