Steelfleece!

Well, while listening on my LS, one of my members said they had seen steelfleece in the highlands, so i grabbed a chocobo and ran over there as fast as i could.

finally a small PT consisting of a whm, brd, and rdm came to kill it, strangly, the whm wasnt taking any dmg unless it used Mighty Strikes!

I remember I saw that NM I thought it was a regular ram I got owned so badly :sweat: I used defender and still I got killed in 2 hits :(

I saw that monster on my way back to selbina while doing the CN map quest, he was fugin HUGE! I asked on my LSchat whether I could pwn it with my lv52 Rdm, and after some discussion, they said "Sure, try it"

Threw on my 12 buffs, unshealthed my sword, cried out BONZAI! and poked the ram for 30 or so damage. "Not too bad" I initially thought, then he stood on his back hind legs, and pancaked me for a crit of 200. Here I started getting worried because he seemed to crit 1 out of 2 hits (must have godly dex), and was contemplating running...

Then he busted out Mighty Strikes, not to be confused with the Mighty Whiffs that war's do, and I was promptly pwned.

Relayed the news to my LS, which resulted in everyone having a nice "ROFL". I got the a blm to come out and raise me, then he got the idea that we should duo the ram.

After getting all buffed up, we yelled our Bonzai's and attacked the ram for round 2. It didnt seem we were doing that bad, I couldnt keep the hate off the blm though :sweat:
Untill Mighty Strikes came out again, much to our surprise.. The blm was getting hammered, and I couldnt keep up with the Cure4s. Blm said run, so I disengaged and he warped me out of there. Seconds later he got pwned..

After the rest of the LS got thier lol's out, we all headed out there with 6 people total, and proceded to exact our revenge on the giant sheep. We were ultimately successful! On top of that, steelfleece dropped a Viking Shield, which goes for 1 million gils on my server :thumbsup:

I was a lv40 Rdm at the time, and was leading a group of friends through La Thein towards Sandy. As we rode up the hill, we came across a giant ram (Steelfleeces brother I guess), and a group of high leveled JP all in their AFs, a little distance off.

This was the first NM that we've seen, and were very excited at finding one that the JP havn't claimed yet. I'm ashamed to say that I convinced my group to attack the ram before the JP group got to it...

So we all got off our chobis and ran up to the ram. Everyone drew their weapons (I unshealthed it late..) and engaged the NM.
Before I even swung my weapon, the ram came crashing down on our mnk tank for about 250 damage. Upon seeing this, I cried for everyone to run for their lives, which either got lost in their battle spam, or was forgotten. Within the next few minutes, my entire group was pwned, and I was safe a huge distance away with my tail between my legs.

I think the JP group was watching this and laughing their asses off.

After the ram left, I returned and asked the JP whm for a raise, which she kindly performed.

After everyone was up and walking, we all talked about the experience and had a good laugh. All the while, the ram was getting closer and closer. The question came up whether it was agressive or not, to which I replied "Nahhhh....". (while I said this I was slowly walking away from the ram) Then all of a sudden we heard a giant Rawwwrrr! and the sheep ran up passing up the melee, going straight for our whm. Headbutted our resting whm, promptly KOing him again. (at this time we did not know that resting incurred aggro) The whm started crying why he was the only one who got attacked, which was very very funny at the time.

We all scatted and remained unharmed, and later the whm came back to raise us again. After this we went straight to Sandy, permanently scarred of the idea of ever beating the giant sheep.. Except for me who was laughing so hard all the way there

I soonafter gained the title of Frogurt the Party Slayer in my ls.

And yes I was a horrible leader :sweat:

ahha yea.. steelfleece and bloodtear are both 60-68ish HNM (hard notorious monsters) and their drops if you get them are worth soooo mcuh but hard figths

it's not generally a good idea to attack a nm that a group of JPN in full AF is camping....

Omg I have an even n00bier story:

I was riding with a RDM from my LS on Chocobos towards Bastok vie Highlands when we came across Rampaging Ram.
I became very excited because I thought it was another NM which I now know is Tremor Ram.
I quickly told him to Dismount and we were making battle plans for about 5 minutes before we "dared" to face it.
Oh before I continue, I was a 30 Warrior and he was 28 Red Mage at the time.
He buffed me up with Shell and Protect and just as we drew weapons we immediately used our 2hrs and started attacking and nuking like crazy............... it died in about 3 hits from me and a couple of spells from the RDM.....
I was like WTF... I thought this was a level 30 monster!?
It dropped a Ram Skin! OMG teh R4re!!1

Talk about embarrassing. :dead:
