I'm kinda dissapointed with them. They aren't different physically at all. The only change is they went back and change some of the colors and put purple accents in. =/ Well it's nice to know that I won't have to wear lvl 52-60 AF armor all the way to lv 75 because I can ditch that and get this once I get higher >:0)

I wonder what the stats are. Maybe DRG AF2 set will make my Wyvern like 50% more HP and have like buffs out the ying yang.

Wow, very cool. :biggrin: I have to say, I think the Warrior and Black Mage ones look a lot better now (though the Warrior could still be better :rolleyes: ). Black Mage JSE, though, is still much cooler-looking. Thief is better too, which is good for me. :) I'm not sure about the Summoner's though; I kinda preferred the green in that case. Ninjas, though, looked cooler in the old AF, IMO. Ninjas are not meant to wear red. You can't be stealthy and sneak through the shadows in red. There's a reason it was black. Blarg. :o As for the rest, I'd have to say they look pretty cool, dispite the only small changes.

I can't believe they actually pay someone to open the texture files in photoshop, mess around with the hue and call it a new armor ~_~ I'm sorely dissapointed... the only ones that even merit a mentioning are RDM and PLD, all the others look like crap, especially ones like THF and RNG where it's just a color change and the texture details weren't changed at all. You call that new ? It seems like they put the original AF armors in a dry cleaner or something till the color faded out O.o.

1. There has been min FFXI for a long long time. You never see any traces of it beside the occasional wedding ring because the service is private. You have to book a date with a GM months in advance to get married. The bestman to the male character being married has to set the date with the GM. SquareEnix takes it very seriously. I have two friends who are to be wed this summer. They are Japanese and told me all about it. Its wierd. You can invite whoever and everyone brings gifts. I do not think the bride gets to keep the wedding dress. But the bride and groom get a rare/ex rings who no stats at all. Just symbols for their marriage.

2. Ya gotta realize FFXI, when complete will have thousands of different armors to choose from. Model recycling is necessary. Personally, I couldn't come up with that many original outfits. Also. The new AF looks similiar because you do quests to upgrade your OLD AF. So its gonna look the same just new colors and textures.

That's the link to POL official updates and they talk about the opaline dress. It's that but they specifically say and I quote, "A new set of synthesizable equipment for use during wedding ceremonies has been introduced." and they show a picture of it. It may have a name but that doesn't mean it's not a wedding dress.

Okay here's how it goes. The Relic Armor is Dropped in Dynamis, everyone knows that by now. The two armors at the bottom of the picture are probably random armors that can be synthesized, i seriously doubt that Square-Enix would include Relic armor for new jobs if they put them in this early in the game.

about the complaints regarding the new AF looking the same as the old. it has to do with the same reason why there aren't that many varieties of armor models, character models, and monster models. they designed them with the PS2s technical limitations in mind. there just isn't enough memory to hold that much data. even tho the PC platform can handle it, they have to keep the variations limited so it can be played cross platform with the PS2.

the 1st one second row is the very awesome looking Red mage, 4th in the second row is beast master,

5th one in the third row looks like the summoner.

God, u people make me sick. You sit here talking about the white armor... It IS a wedding dress because I have seen it near the Crag Mea. There was a japanese wearing it. I checked her and it said "Races: All, Jobs: All, Gender: Female" The name also stated: "OPALINE DRESS". So do not say it is Dancer AF or any sort of AF. To be honest, I think there IS weddings but it is still in developement, hopefully will be complete next year.

I dunno if anyone has noticed but, if you look @ POL website they state that the "Wedding" service is under development to NA player. And also around town there are NPCs wearing the GM armor called "Modiste" or something, that will be responsible for that service.

the JP already has the Wedding service. I dunno if anyone here has already seen a Wedding ring, but they are around. and thats what the wedding dress is for.

Ok, The Opaline Dress is a wedding dress, to clear up any confusion, The Red-Carapace-Armor, I have heard is called Scorpion Breastplate, it has a resist to poison and if you are poisoned it adds a regen effect, it may be on auction on some servers. I am not 100% sure of this, this is just what i have heard...

Ok, I can now 100% clarify that the Scorpion Breastplate does exist, on the Kujata Server it is on Auction, I am sure it is on other Servers also. I will try to get a screen of someone wearing it, or a pic of it at the Auction House.

The red armor that looks like the Carapace armor for lvl 61ish has already been obtained. I saw a Monk wearing Wulong shoes so I couldn't resist examining XD
I saw what the name was, I think it was Scorpion Harness. I'm pretty sure it was that, but then again wasn't that other harness thats like 2 million gil on Lakshmi (*-_-) called the Scorpion Harness? Oh well, I didn't get a picture :(
But I can tell you thats what I saw, so it's out there. And, I'm pretty sure its not Ex either.
