View Full Version : I'm so confused, Party Items..

When in a party, when enemies die, and drop an item, it seems to go into some kind of party chest. My friend and I have been selecting the one window, that shows a few items, you then select it, and have 2 options, one makes it unselectable (Bottom) And one turns it red (Top) There are also some little rectangles near the bottom, that say "Roll".

The other window of items, when you click on an item, you either use it (I ate a mushroom from that window) Or, it opens a trade window where you enter your own items? I Don't get how this works.

However, when we did select the items to red, my friend was getting them all. H'd select them in red, and he would to, and he'd get them. No matter what I did, I couldn't take an item, and I was killing the enemies dropping the items..

Anyhow, can someone attempt to explain this method of sharing items with the party? I'm partied with one other person right now .. Just to test it, but I couldn't figure it out.

Thanks for the help .. ^.^;;

ok... when your PT kills an enemy, the item that drop by enemy will go into something(or chest) for member for rolling.

so, in order to get the item, go to the menu you mention about (got two option when you click on the item). Then the first option is 'Lotting', the 2nd option is 'Pass'. If you want/need the item, then choose 'lotting'. and you will get several point for that item, who ever got the highest point for the item will get the item(an the point is all random).

If you dont want/need the item, just like when you help some one in PT to do quest to get the item, then you may choose the 2nd option to pass the item.

addtional: make sure your invertory didnt get full before lotting, if not you wont able to lotting.

So if you 'pass', do you get any advantage on future items? Could someone just lot every item and sell 'em off or trade later without any reservations?

lol..dont need to post twice...
no if u pass it wouldnt be a disadvantage at all, the lotting is just randomly gives you number up to 999, tho i never saw 999..lol

yes u can just choose lotting and if u get the items, u can sell em in AH or NPC or trade, or bazaar..lol

It is in the mini battle menu, last or second last option depending what your cursor is pointing at. You should see a separate inventory where the battle loot is stored for lotting.

OK look this is a simple step to know how to use the "roll" after getting items

Step 1: Everyone in your pt gets a monster to kill

Step 2: You kill the monster and the items it droped should show up in green right after you killed it

Step 4: you look at the little chest icon on your screen(right above your name)

step 5: go to your little mini menu and select the 2ed from the bottom

step 6: is should show you all the items that are up for looting

Step 7: click on one and it should show you a little menu with 2 options the first option is for looting in other hand trying to get the item the 2ed option is for passing if you don't need the item then click the 2ed option

step 8: if o- you clicked on the first item it should come up with a number ranging from 1-999, if all is done well then you can go back to that item and check who has the lead. iyou can see it by going back to the same mimi menu and clicking 2ed option from the bottom and right next to each name it should show numbers ans who ever has higher nubers is wininig.

P.S. what server are you on and whats your name on ffxi??(mine is Ecko on ragnorak)

plus, if u lotted a 999, that item will go into your item list straight away!
