I have recently heard that subing Beastmaster is better then most people think. It seems that instead of only being able to charm beasts at half you main job level(for example your main is level 30 and you can only charm level 15 monsters), you can charm beasts at your current main level for half the time.
Is this true?
If it is then I was wondering if a Brd/Bst combo would work. While your singing a song your beast could fight. Also the beast sub gives you more charisma then many other subs. So is this feasible?

It doesn't work because in most area where you will fight, you won't have access to monsters that can make good pets (most monsters will be T, VT and IT to you). Another problem is that you lose EXP because of the pet. BRD/BST sub can be usefull for solo'ing but you don't do that often.

It only gives 2 more points over WHM sub. Another thing you need to know is that CHR does not improve the efficency of songs, only the chance of resist for songs you cast on monsters.

Yeh, its really only good for soloing, and hunting nms. But, im sure you'd rather hunt NM's with a thief sub for the Treasure hunter passive ability. But, that's just my two cents....

Great for soloing yes, but in all honesty, would pt's refuse a BARD based on the fact they have a BST sub? lol
I wish people would let of the security blanket cookie cutter subjob /WHM, and start looking at some unique alternatives in a positive light
