View Full Version : Character Build - Dark Knight/Pal?
Ok... noobish question, but would a good subjob for a dark knight be paladin... i'm thinking increased defense and some white magic. What's the thoughts on that...
Also, at higher levels, is the strength diff between humans and elves all that important in terms of damage dealt? How important is the agility and dexterity diff?

If you sub DRK with PLD, you'll be getting two repetitive abilities. At around level 20 or so, they get Weapon Bash (DRK) and Shield Bash (PLD) which do the exact same thing. You could have a much better sub like Thief and do incredible damage with Decieving attack and backstab.

problem w/ subbing thief is that u can't fuidama until level 60, but w/ war u can berserk > darkness > last resort (experimenting today yielded best results in that order) hard slash/slice at level 30. Also, u can't add darkness or last resort to just sneak attack (tho u prolly don't need to ;) ) or else the hate rate'll bring'em facing you, so that it doesn't work. I still prefer subbing war :P Also, "supercharge" plus hard-slash will keep the enemy pissed at you long enough for the thief in the PT to pull a fuidama with ease. Make sure you let ur whm's know you're gonna do this ahead of time
btw just an example. At my level, just hard slash -> 70-100 damage, "supercharged" hard slash -> 170-200 damage
as for subbing pld, the most convincing piece of proof I can draw up is the fact that no one plays one. If it were any good, there'd bound to be someone using it. We see galka white mages (/shudder), yet we don't see any drk/pld or pld/drk's. Bound to be a reason for this, eh?

You should make a sub that fits with your main job. Like if your a drk, they do damage, so you would want a sub job that adds on to that damage, not one that adds to defence.
