Something very wrong

Ok when i start to load it up, i get to the select screen and thats fine but when i join my world the screen is just black, sometimes i can see my cursor sometimes i cant, it has sound and everything the sound is just black
i reinstalled my vid card drivers and im wondering if there is anything i can do to fix this besides re-installing

ok, i had the same thing happen to me, except when i was trying to create my character

so what i advise is opening the FFXi config tool and unchecking a lot fo the advanced options, keep things simple, the graphics may not be as precise and stuff, but you'll be able to run the game, hey, it worked for me, you try it

yeah, that's what i did, but i'm positive that there's other options that are enabled that if disabled would cure this problem

simple solution.

Disable all setting or whatnot, then one at a time enable them, untill you get the black screen, then you know what is causing the prolbem.


then you turn off the last one you turned on, and hte one you had just tried and see if it works that way you can narrow it down to wheter it is that one, a combo of things, or what.

sounds like a video card driver problem, update your video drives and if you have done that reinstall your video drivers and reboot then try again ^.^
