I was reading the topics about new jobs and basically wanted to think of something else, different from another job that your character could become.
and i came up with elemental warriors.
some of my ideas are abit sketchy but anyway...
once you reach a certain level you would be able to undertake a quest to become a elemental warrior, you would have 1 each for the different elements. these elements would differ to normal job changes, because you would keep the traits of your normal job but have the added bonus of an element (sort of like a special sub job)
you could only take on 1 element at a time (like changing your subjob) but this could be controlled by a special necklace, so to change elements you just change you necklace (these would have to be none tradable)
eg. i am lvl 75/37 SAM/WAR and wish to stay with my current setup but give myself something else to go for. id need to complete the Fire quest (which would be a difficult thing to do) i then would obtain my Firestone necklace, once equipped i would be a Fire Elemental warrior. this would give me an extra 2 stats Fire Atk and Fire Def, these would work like combats skills, the more i used them the better they would become. i also would gain an elemental abilities which would be a big powerful spell based on that element.
i obviously would do more dmg against Mobs with a weakness to fire and so on.
each element could be used by any Job but certain ones could be used to enhance basic jobs (Light elementals could become better at healing, fighting undead - whereas Lightning elementals would become better at sneaking, critical attacks.)
so taking a Fire (a damage based elemental) with a DRK would be a very powerful melee warrior, but it could still be taken with a mage class adding bonuses to that aswell.
