Just wondering.
My Bard is level 25 now, about halfway to 26. I have almost enough money to afford a Signa... but is it worth it at this level?
Thanks for any replies.

on my server signa staff goes for about 2-300k, if i had the money i would much rather buy mary's horn, i'd get alot more use out of double sleep durations, than i would 8 charisma (also horn only runs about 100k, 1/3rd the price of teh signa). there are other options for raising charisma, shell buster at lvl 4x is +4 charisma, rings +2, i think there is a few other things that are useable about 25ish that would be good, i'm only lvl 40.
Well you'll be the pimpest bard at 25, Signa is pretty nice~

Monster Signa is nice, and a weapon you'll use from level 25 to 75. You'll want to buy it eventually, so why not? As long as you keep enough money left over to buy your songs for a while. I don't believe charisma is super important at your levels (A lot more important around the 60's though), but it can't hurt. Well, it can with the -5 VIT, but just don't draw agro :D

I just picked up my signa last night. I have Mary's horn, the signa, some RSE pieces, and all of the relevant +1 instruments for my level. I am level 32. I was wandering around Jeuno last night, and the comments I got were very flattering (well, as flattering as carrying a big bullseye on your back can get).

Sell your Monster Signa, buy two Astral Rings and sell them once you reach level 40 then buy the staff again. The MP you will get from those rings will be very usefull, they will allow you to do alot more support healing, which will speed up the recovery time when the mage are resting.
How does a Bard even begin to make that sort of money? I'm only just hitting 40k, and thats the most i've ever got in this game.

Well, on my server the price of 2x Astral Rings is over 100k more then the price of a Signa is =P so that's out of the question lol.
As for how I got the all the gil, simple. Scroll quests.
I dont have a Mary's Horn either, so... I wonder which would be better to buy
Which scroll quests give that amount of money? Woah!

Tele-Altep = 35k, Tele-Dem = 40k, Aspir = 25k, Drain = 15k,
Tele-Mea = 50k

the problem with selling the teleport scrolls, and any other scrolls accualy, is that if u choose to level those classes later, you'll be stuck buying those scrolls from the ah just like u sold them.

Those scrolls are nowhere near the worth of the 320k the signa sells for only Fairy.
Also, your probably better off purchasing Mary's Horn, and having plenty of money left over.. honestly.

Ah... that wont be a problem.... I definately dont want to be a dedicated whm anytime soon, Bard is -so- much more fun.
And well, I gave in and bought the Signa earlier.

signa is what its made up to be..i have about 27 plus char. at level 40 and some things still resist my elegy requiems and lullaby...you might as well get mary's horn do some bcnm with it and buy signa with the money you made..you could also just camp it...

Signa itself is not enough to make sure your Threnodies and Elegies aren't resisted frequently, but it's a pretty big step in the right direction. Buy a Horn +1 and a Piccolo +1 for those. I very rarely get resisted on just about anything with 64 +33 CHR at 66.

No thanks, to the bulls-eye on my back.
I personally don't have an interest in the Monster Signa Staff. I would refuse it as a gift and would sell it to further my friends and my needs if I stumble across it in my adventures
I’m very equipment orientated and value both MP and CHR gear. So for my own benefit I worked the difference between me having it and not. Starting at level 35 when Mobs resists start to play noticeable role, its a 15% difference in charisma then degrades down to a 4% difference at lvl75.
And considering it's one of multiple factors that are played when determining whether your debuff lands; the extra charisma from the staff would play a fraction of the % listed above. And while some Bards feel they need this staff for BCNM fights, there are a lot of bards that don’t have this staff and manage just fine without it.
Also to consider, our AF weapon (level 40) is a dagger, which bards excel in using, comes with +2 charisma devaluing the staff further.
For me, it's not worth 300k or the stress in camping or wanting one for novelty of it. I believe I would be better off focusing my efforts in obtaining other gear.
Thanks
