newbie question's.....help??

Hello to all,
First, let me thank you for looking at this! (THANK YOU) Now on with my questions....

1. What "exactly" do I need to start playing? I need every detail possible..

2. Everyone I know play's the Tara-Tara, so I was wondering if I was at a disadvantage playing a human. Also I don't want to join a party at first, will i get destroyed not playing as a whitemage?

Well thanks again for looking this over. Hope someone could lend me some info. Once again for question 1, please don't skip anything...I need as much info as possible!

1. What do you want to know? Requirements to run FFXI, or how the gameplay works?

2. Correction, it is Tarutaru. You aren't really at a disadvantage using a hume, as thier stats are well balanced for every class. You will not get destroyed playing as a WHM, if the team you are with is very good at controlling hatred. When you heal, it pisses the monster off, and he IGNORES everyone else, and comes after you. To that effect, it is up to a certain class(and maybe everyone else) to get his attention diverted away from you. You wont get destroyed by NOT using a WHM. However, your time may be difficult in later levels without one.

I’m sorry for not being more specific in question 1. let me tell you what I know and then maybe you could just fill the blanks. I have a computer cafe at my local mall, that has FF11 already installed in it and computers capable of running it, so that’s not a problem...I’m more concerned with payment options. I was told, you need a credit card? I need more info then that!! what if I don't have one? can I still play? and can you explain the setting up a account process? we'll any help would be nice, most people forget they were once newbee's. I hope that clears thing's up. once again thanks for your help!!

mmyep, you'll need a credit card. Or if you have a checking account, you should be able to get a hold of a debit card with a credit card logo on it through yer bank (that's what I'm doing).

I dunno if that internet cafe you're mentioning has any kinda payment options where they can set up a POL account for you for cash... but I'm sure there's prolly some kinda merchant licensing involved for that, just a wild thought.

Sorry. Bad habit of mine. I tend to forget topics that I posted in. ^^;;;

You dont need a credit card. As Anom said which I will elaborate on, you can use a debit card as long as it has the visa logo on it. That is if you have a checking account. Which is simple. Open one up(most banks have a 25$ fee.) Then well, just save money in this account. You'll recieve your card in some weeks. Viola, register it with POL. And you're set.

And if you dont have a job, this process could take awhile. But on the bright side, you have the game. :D(Meaning you dont have to cough up more money.)

I'm on my way to playing soon (can't wait) there’s not really much more to say....well any way....oh yeah, does anybody know a site or where on this site I could check out Character race's and job descriptions...that type of stuff so I could decide before I start playing? hey, sorry but im a newbee so i cant help ya myself!...handle is a name (i think)....mine is "Shinobi Shaw" here and "Desert ghost" on other sites.....your best bet is to post a topic with headlines like "Newbee needs help....PLEASE" and just wait a few days. thats what i did! hope this helped you, if not sorry......post back if it doesn't!
