I saw a ring at the AH that is lvl 15, it gives approx +4 CHR, is it worth buying?

What +CHR should I be using at lvl 15? I just hit 13 and am about to switch to my old BLM/WHM gear that I was wearing. It'll just up my def, but I'm not sure what armour or weapon I should be looking for? I'm confused because I hear that CHR only affects certain songs and those aren't the ones I'm using now. Currently using Minne, Minuet, Paeon and Madrigal.

At this level, I'm about ready to buy a Legionnaire Staff and use that for +6 MP/HP, is there a better choice? I'm taru and subbin WHM.

My singing skill and wind skills are high, I never had a harp until now though. Is there a different radius and when should I use it?

bard is fun :) thx for your replies

A... ring? At level 15? That adds 4 charisma? Either that's a million or two gil, or you've been seeing things. Can I get a name for this ring? :P

When you equip your BRD/WHM, you have to worry about two, and only two things -- Charisma first, MP second. You want enough Charisma at all times that you do not have trouble landing Lullaby, Threnody, Elegy, and Requiem on monsters you are hunting. This will vary from level to level. Once you reach this threshold of Charisma, you're going to want to now concentrate on increasing your MP so that you can be a more effective back-up healer and status-curer.

If you don't plan on meleeing, that staff choice is fine. Back then I still melee-ed a bit because I didn't have much MP to cure with or Ballad to throw on casters. But the choice is your's on this one.

A Harp does have a longer range than a Flute or Singing, but that's the only real advantage it has. There aren't any useful harps until 60, which is +Paeon, but it doesn't hurt to keep your string skill up.
