Bard song amount

I was always told that bards can only have (1) song active at any given time, has this changed? I met a bard that said he can have 2 active songs and in a party by some formation can pull off 4 songs active???

Sub BRD's can only have 1 Active Song

If a PT has 4 Active Songs its either because;

a) There are 2 BRD's in the PT (main job)
b) He/She Sung 2 Songs for the melee, and 2 Songs for the mages (which is usually the case)

Ok, assuming its a main job, how could you pull off a song "just for melee" and "just for mages"? Doesnt your song work on ALL party members at once?

Also, how long does a song last? Does it need to be "leveled" like magic so it lasts longer?

Also, is Bard's main concern CHR? If so, why?

Hehe I have been reading your guide, its very good. But it doesnt say how long a song lasts. Also, why would you have to switch weapons around so much? Is there really that big a difference in song type with certain weapon types?

Yep, there's a pretty big difference in songs when you use the proper instrument for the proper sound type, and so bards will usually macro in instrument changes to their song macros.
As far as song length, they usually last about 1 and a half minutes.

Also, it's not just having bard as a sub that lets only one song be active at a time. As long as a bard isn't using an instrument, he can only have one song at a time (which is why subbing bard can only have one at a time). Hehe.
