Hey all =) My LS and I finished up mission 9 (the delkfutt's castle one) this past Friday with absolutely no trouble at all. We had 10 people - mostly melee, two whm's, a rdm, and only one blm cause our other one couldn't make it. I mean, when i say easy, it was very easy - took us maybe 2 hours, and we took our time.

So, we're up to mission 10. I've read in some places it takes a full alliance, with people over lvl 35 to do this mission. I did a bit of objective reading on it, and I couldn't find anything that would explain why this mission is so hard.

Could someone tell me what the recommended levels for this is? Also, a detailed description would be appreciated - the only one I found was kinda vague, hence why I was a bit confused about the levels needed.

Thanks^^ m(._.)m

Title: Magicite Confusion - MISSION 10
Location: Embassy (Ru'lude Gardens, Jeuno)
Difficulty: A mid-sized ALLIANCE
Rank needed: 4.75 (donate AT LEAST 36 crystals)
Suggested Level: 35+, Maps of Davoi, Castle Oztroja and Beadeaux
Reward: RANK 5, AIRSHIP PASS, 10,000 gil

Solution: This is a VERY VERY long mission with an mandatory need for an alliance! This mission will more then 8+ hours, more if you fight alot.

Talk to your Ambassador for a Ducial Audience pass. Meet with the Duke (note the creepy guys in the background) and learn that you need to visit the 3 HQs of the beastmen (Davoi, Oztroja, Beadeaux) to get three magicites. These three magicites are supposedly going to resurrect the Shadow Lord. It doesn't matter what order you do it in. I did this quest with one party all level 40+.

Before you leave, however, you need to activate some quests in Jeuno.

The Duke will give you a letter to Alto, head of the Tenshodo. You will need to be a member as a reward for the quest "Tenshodo Membership" from Ghebi Damomohe (Neptune's Spire, Lower Jueno). However, another player who has finished this quest may "invite" one other person to join (or sell that invitation to the AH).

After showing the letter to Alto you pickup a silver bell. Talk to Sattal-Mansa in the next room and he will trade you 2 items needed (Coruscant Rosary & Black Matinee Necklace) for the magicite room in Beadeaux - if you pickup two NM drops from the NMs in Beadeaux.

Head to Upper Jeuno and talk to Baudin. After an event trade a Coeurl Meat (dropped by Coeurls in Meriphataud) to pick up the item to unlock the seal in Davoi.

Talk to the 3 kids in Upper Jeuno for an event then head to the Goblin shop in Lower Jeuno. Muckvix will pass a torch to unlock the magicite room in Oztroja.

Davoi
Using the item Baudin's sister gave you unlock the seal at G-7 to head in for the first Magicite. This is very easy and will take 3 minutes to do. Sadly, it gets MUCH harder from now on.

Oztroja
You will need a map of this area from Windhurst and it will take a LONG time to travel through this castle. The first part is at J-8 of the first floor. Only ONE lever will open the door - if not the floor opens to jail below you. The levers result WILL VARY depending on allegiance so STAND BACK when doing this.

After passing the door it gets pretty straight forward - just keep following the passage till you get outside. Head north into a passage (by some NMs) then head back into the castle. You will be on the 2nd floor and it is a MAZE with several dead-ends NOT ON THE MAP. It is rather long and fairly good exp. We had a small alliance (and we knew where we were going) and it took about 2.5+ hours. Once you get to another set of doors light the stand with the torch from Muckvix and you access the second Magicite.

Phew. But the worst is yet to come.

Beadeaux
Beadeaux is annoying because you need to come back to Sattal-Mansa after killing the NMs. The first NM is easy since you can "pull" him down from the upper ledge. He is left of the main chamber when you first get in. He should drop 2-3 Divination Shell per death. He will respawn in 10 mins or so.

The 2nd is SO ANNOYING since you must go by the Mute and Afflictor machines. The mute will silence you if you get close. Normally this would be very had but in this case you WANT TO GET silenced. Once silenced run past the Afflictor - if you aren't silenced when going past the Afflicor you will get weakened (10% of normal HP and MP). I suggest bring an echo screen and some food/juice for refresh. This might be the ONLY place in the entire game a potion might be worth the insane amount of gil it costs. At the top ledge find (?) at ?-? for the 2nd NM drop Quadav Charms.

After getting the 2 drops from both NM head back to Lower Jeuno and trade Sattal-Mansa the two items and get the Coruscant Rosary & Black Matinee Necklace. The rest is easy, head back to Beadeaux and head left all the way. The 3rd Magicite awaits.

Go back to the Duke in Ru'lude Gardens to receive your Airship Pass! Head to your Embassy for RANK 5 and 10,000 gil.

So, we nee 18 people, 35+ to do this? Or is it doable with 18 people, low to mid 30s? Or level 35s, with 10 people? Just trying to gauge what mid-sized alliance means.

It also seems like you can divide this into 4 parts (gather quests, then 3 strongholds).

10 people at 35 is fine

the prep work (the 3 quests to get the items to go into the magacite room and the walking to and from the dungeon areas) usually takes more time then the magicite themselves....you have to walk to beadeux kill 2 NMs a number of times (depending on how large your group is) go back to jueno....then walk back to beadeux and get to the room itself....davoi is the easiest....kill a coerul and get 1 meat..trade it to a kid then walk past a bunch of level 31+ group orcs..and enter the magicite room.....oztroja i havnt done yet ='(...i heard it was rather easy to do that part too...but who knows ^_^..

good luck to you deedlit ^_~...(someone told me the NMs in beadeux con VT to a level 45)...

Note to WHMs/RDMs out there ^^;... I was able to successfully solo the Oztroja and Davoi parts of this mission. Sneak and Invis go a long way. With Beadeaux, it was simply a matter of defeating the two NMs, and then you can solo that one as well. You can actually buy one of these items too(Augury shell), but you have to get help on the other. Just remember... Oztroja - Sneak and Invis, Davoi - Invis and Deodor(? - Unsure - it's an absurdly short walk if you know where you're going), and Bead - Sneak only. Good luck

Just to clarify on the Beadeaux part - Go'Bhu Gascon (NM close to the entrance) checked even to me at 42. I killed him solo as a RDM/BLM, so a full balanced PT of level ~35 people could take him down without much trouble.

De'Vyu Headhunter checked Tough to me at 42. Killed him in a 3-person PT with ease. A full PT of level ~37 people should be able to kill him. I wouldn't try it with less than 8 people at 35, with larger alliances the closer you get to 30. As mentioned above, the biggest annoyance from the mission comes from the silence/curse machines.

Another thing - I am going to assum eyou need to be 35 in order to even be offered the mission? I'm 32 right now, full rank bar, and the mission still isn't showing up =x

Thanks to everyone on the tips though, working on leveling in the meantime =)

Hmm....I know I wasn't offered the mission up front at first either, but I did a couple of things and then was given the mission. I'm not exactly sure which step triggered it though.

First off, I raised my rank points to about 1/3 to 1/2 full by giving crystals to the guards.

Then I finished off the quest that grants you membership of the Tenshodo. I'm not sure if it's an actual requirement to receive the mission, but you do need to see a couple of NPCs in there for the actual mission.

Hmm, didn't get Tenshodo membership yet, will try that later tonight.

ive taken about 8 ppl thru oztroja M10. it's pretty easy up til that door with the torches. now that i'm level 55 bard, i usually just tank them while the helpee runs thru to zone.

takes about 5-15 mins depending on how often we recast invis/sneak

Are you checking your mission NPC for the assignment? You don't have to talk to them. I got my bar up 3/4ths of the way and then I just talked to the guy in Bastok's consulate in Jeuno. He told me to talk to the consul and I got the mission from him.

Almost got my whole LS up to the rank 4 Delkfutt's mission, so we'll be trying this soon. Am I correct in thinking that we're better off trying to sneak/invis everyone through, instead of fighting?

Personally I'd just fight through. If Sneak/Invis breaks in a bad place (and you know it will), you can easily have a train on your hands possibly wiping out the entire alliance. You might as well fight the entire way through and take the 2-3 hours to do so rather than risking it.

Then again, I get annoyed rather easily when I have to sneak/invis a group, so take it for what it's worth ^^;

I completed castle ostroja and getting the NM items from beadeaux with another LS I'm in with pretty mixed levels. At the time, I had a 30 DRG. We also had a 35 ninja, and 3 other 40's. We used sneak and invisible most of the way. When we didn't, even our highest level got aggroed. With teamwork, you'll be able to get through most of it without fighting.

I'd offer to help, but since we're on different servers...

I still remember trying to sneak/invis people doing RSE. They either don't get "about to wear off" warnings like I do when I cast them on myself, or don't bother to tell me. So of course their sneak wears off when they're surrounded by wights and abyss worms, and they ask me why I didn't recast it with an elemental looking over their shoulder.

If you decide to take the stealth approach, every player should be responsible for his/her own stealth - that means everyone who doesn't have WHM or RDM 25+ will need sneak oils and possibly prism powder. It's not really worth it if you can just fight your way through.
