Newbies: If/When you import, plan on making an effort to learn Japanese. That or just wait for NA. It's too frustrating for everyone to deal with people who can't communicate (and don't even try to).

Leaders: If someone demonstrates unacceptable conduct and people complain to you, deal with the offenders if you care about it, but don't take it out on your whole damn LS. Maybe things used to be perfect before we "invaded" your gardens, but that doesn't mean that every one of us is making an effort to screw you over now :(

Everyone else who isn't doing anything wrong: Well, apparently there's not much we can do about it... except try to set a good example.

Well, I can understand the Newbie, and Japanese related portions.

But, I can assure you, I'm not going to be bugging any of you importers for help. (My import should be here by monday) I've had Japanese language classes. (which pretty much just covered Hiragana) And in the last week while waiting, I've been working with a friend who is also importing, and making our japanese skills good enough to play online with. Right now I'm working on my Katakana, memorization is great when in the menu's, but I think being able to read them is just THAT much more fun ^.^

Anyway, I must say, someone shouldn't import, if they expect the game to work to make them understand. =P I think when importing, you should be ready to commit to something like learning the language you are going to be playing in. I'm happilly awaiting the challenge of learning all I need to know to play online ^.^

(Anyway, thats al I have to say ^.^ My import should be here soon, Hurrah! I think Importing can often have a serious side effect of boredom, especially while waiting.)

Tao: Good work, means it's not directed towards you :thumbsup: Don't get me wrong, we're all more than happy to help everyone w/ Japanese, but some people don't even make any effort to learn, and when they PT with JP ppl, they act (and are) kinda lost, and sometimes pull some stunts to offend people :eek: And of course, some people would naturally think that all importers are like that, and complain to the leaders. It's frustrating when something like this happens.

however, other things like 'what is the button i need to press to attack?' this type of question..... sometimes, i also get bored. but most fustrated still some ppl dont want try to learn some simple japanese and keep complaining no one want to PT with them :mad:

This is a funny stab at the "leaders" of the LS considering the conversation that took place last night. I asked the entire LS whether it was common sense that to abruptly leave a PT in the middle of the field was rude. Pretty much everyone said yes. Of course there are situations where people have emergencies and some members brought up this point but THIS IS THE 3RD COMPLAINT ABOUT THE SAME PERSON REGARDING THE SAME THING. I did not name the player on the LS just asked if the actions where considered rude because I found it rude. The offended PT found it rude. That is why they contacted me to let me know that it occured. Its a similar situation regarding several new members and some mid level members over the last few weeks.

Now, after hearing everyone's one take on it Awntawn comes into the conversation saying something along the lines of "Well JP does stuff like this too so JP shouldn't complain so much". Of course Awntawn doesn't mention this in his comments above. So I question him about this but it seems to be some double standard or something. Awntawn you can explain it here if you want seeing you are bringing this out of game. You say jp shouldnt complain because there are jp who act the same way right? So that implies that Jp dont complain about jp who are rude too. Well if that was true then your point is valid, but unfortunately that is not correct. They complain and bitch about rude jp WAY MORE than anything I have seen them say about importers. Of course you would have to be able to read jp and look at the posts on the jp boards. So seeing as they DO COMPLAIN about other jp, I fail to understand where you can make a comment saying they shouldn't complain about importers? So you would rather them say NOTHING and let it grow into something bad instead of complaining about it, get it fix, and move on? Go ahead explain it.

As for Neogundan in general, they are far too many people who just do not care. This was displayed during the "war" with DK and recent comments regarding conduct on the servers. During the "war" with DK there were far too many people who said "It doesn't effect me" or "Just ignore it". So let me get this straight, when someone attacks the name and/or reputation of the community called Neogundan, these people are basically saying they are not part of the community? So this means to me and my circle of veterans, that these people do not care about NG. The times we see they say the affairs of NG effect them is when they need help with leveling, quests, or missions. So these people are just using NG? And it's not a few people, its far too many people.

The other night hearing how people say JP shouldn't complain about importers is further proof how too many do not are about NG. These people would rather let members going around acting like idiots in the entire online community, bring a bad name against NG, and damage the reputation of the importer community further just because "I am sick of hearing it". How do you think that looks to me and the veterans of Gundan. Oh excuse me "the leaders" of Gundan. I do not quite remember if I gave you the NG pearl myself but if you did get it from me, you would know I state the "rules of Neogundan". The last main rule is "No behavior that would give importers a bad name with the JP players". I believe I stated this in another thread which you posted on a few times. Oh wait, there are far too many people who just do not care so why should we care about the simple rules "the leaders" of the LS ask of everyone? Why should "the leaders" care about keeping Drako and other offensive players like mechromancer/darkstar/dabura/ghettochild/Rachil/Babidi out of NG? We should not care right? That's what you are saying right?

These are the people that helped you GET ON the servers, helped you LEARN to play the game, yet you have the gall to tell them they're doing their "jobs" wrong?

After the influx of PC players, some new creedo spawned among far too many importers: "We can do whatever we want~ We paid for the game~" That's grade A bullshit. As Sheila said, we are all guests in another country's servers. Saying things like "OH BUT THEY'RE RUDE TOO" is ridiculous. It's the equivalent of saying "well, they eat shit, i can do it too~" Trust me, Japanese players who don't abide by playing etiquette are blacklisted. Importers are treated MUCH MORE FAIRLY than most of you even realize.

All of the semantics aside, though, Sheila said it plainly: treat people as you want to be treated. With respect and courtesy. REGARDLESS of where they come from.

in any case, what of the possibilite that NA and JP will share the same severs when NA is released. there will undoutedly be a ffxi boom of new players migrating too this site and very much so forums. what percautions will there be to make sure that those who would want to join NG can follow the rules that cain stated?

what i fear most is that the reputation of NG among jp players (which i have witnessed to be in very good standing as of now) is threatened through some form or fashion of the exact same conducted stated above IE: leaving pt abroutly with reason givin in any way.

reading this topic clearly showed the effort of the "verterans" in making the NG link shell and its reputation which i'm sure those who have joined since then are very gratefull for and do not wish to see it ruinded in any way do to such behavior from those who know no better or choose to know no better.

the "constructive conversation" that is taking place now is valid but more of a glimps of what might happen if NA and JP share the same severs when NA is released.
