THF sub and Steal

I'm not sure what determines Steal success rate, but I'm wondering how would steal work when I sub THF conpared to being the main job?

Whenever I sub THF and try to steal, it fails. I don't even bother anymore.

It worked for me, subbing thief and stealing from VT or IT worms. Not always, but it has worked.

my advice : dont use steal it has small success rate(when subbed) and you can't even steal rare or Ex items....

If you're farming, not xping, throwing in the steal every 5 minutes won't hurt. Even if you're just subbing THF. In a xp party unless you're already 30 and subbing for sneak or whatever you probably shouldn't be subbing THF.

well...if you're item farming then it is a waste to steal bcuz u mostly steal crap that just takes up item space.....now if u just wanna throw it in every once in a while just so you can use it thats great..but only reason to sub theif is treasure hunter (for hunting)

Depends on what you steal from. Beastcoins sell fine in stacks, well at least silver or better, and the lowest ones you can use to work on your smithing skills. Some creatures you can steal better things from than others. As I think its been mentioned before, you can steal cotton from Mandragors which goes for a decent price (or, again you can use for your own crafting). So it just sort of depends.

I'm going to hit 30 soon and get DRG. I really like playing THF, but I like Dragoons more. From 1-29 with DRG i'm going to sub WAR, 30-59 THF, 60+ SAM. The only time I would switch to THF, if not already using it, would be when I go money hunting. I was just wondering if steal will work ok. So far, steal has made me a nice amount of money.

You can steal mithril coins from mid lv beastman... 18k a stack on bismarck.

You can steal gold coins from high lv beastman... 12k each, 140k a stack on bismarck.

Those coins dont waste my space :p

I now farm in beadeaux, I make about 12-15k per hour from chest and stealing mithril coins.. also have a chace to get Valkury mask every 1.5-2hr from an NM (the mask is 250,000 gil on my server).

Steal doesnt suck when farming if you do it at the right place, lv.

PS. I use 60PLD/15THF with 40 INT if anyone cares.

What monsters can you steal Mythril beastcoins from? Like Garnet and Silver Quadavs and stuff?

lol jeeb mid level beast men for your level are completly diffrent from mid level to a level 30 theif -_-; highest beast coins stealable at level 30 w/o being smashed in the face and killed are silver beast coins.....which dont sell horribly but stealing dosnt always work =(
