Well Finally Ive Decided

Well ive finally decided to get the game (ive been debating to get it or not since before the NA release) but im gonna go get it now i have nothing else to do and it looks like a fun game.

But before i go out and buy the game i have 2 questions

1. Is there any site that has more in-depth profession information (more than this site has) like what weapons/armor each profession can use etc?? to further help me decide on what i want to be

2. For those of you who own the pc version do you recommend using the keyboard/mouse or using a gamepad/controller? and if you do prefer useing a gamepad which one do you recommend?

1. This information can be found on various FFXI sites, but will be made very obvious in-game. Try gamefaqs.com or any of the sites listed in the sponsored links over at Playonline's website.

2. Controller is better. I personally use a converter to use my PS2 controller on the PC. Some will argue that keyboard is equal or better than controller, but in my experience both trying it and playing with people using keyboard, controller is superior, which makes sense since the game was designed with a controller in mind.

i recomend getting the stratagey guide with the game .. I usally dont buy em but in this case its good for weapons list and a few other goodies

I use a controller for most of my game play but have macros set up on the keyboard and use the keyboard for chatting and PT comunication .. so i go with the both option ... but as far as running around the world exploring nothing beats my wireless gamepad

Kewl.. well i think ill get the game first.. try it without a gamepad.. see how it is.. then go buy one if i need to

I reccomend not using any guides in this game. It makes it kinda boring. A big point of the game is to explore and find out what to do in order to get something. Instead of a quest to get something, it will feel like a task.

If you are going to use keyboard, I recommend using compact keyboard setting.

Hmm maybe i wasnt clear enough .. Im not using the quide for quests or missions .. its rather lacking in that area anyways .. but as far as items job classes and stuff like that it has alot of useful info .. monster guides and things of that nature .. in this case its more of a reference guide then cheat book as your use to with most games

My advice is to NOT use compact setting, but if you are going to use the keyboard, do NOT touch the mouse, use keyboard for everything. Life was so much better once I figured that out.
