leveling first sub worth it?

I'm leveling my war to 30 so I can do the advanced job quests, then switch my class completely. I leveled my thf to 10 and subbed it. is it worth leveling to 15, even though after I get my advanced class I'm throwing thf away?
oh and dont say, "omg for alot of adv quests you gotta be level 5046724684267426.31235234+++++ to be able to stand somewhat of a chance against the uber difficult boss that does over 500000 aoe damage" cause I have friends who will do it for me :)

yes it is definatly worth it cause your still gonna have some trouble lvling to 30...

Don't worry at all about levelling your Thief. You will not have a hard time getting through the 20s with a level 10 sub. When you are, for example, level 26, you will have 10 levels of thief subbed instead of 13... and that is maybe a difference of a dozen HP and a point or 2 of Dex. It won't be a big deal at all, people will not turn you down for parties and you won't miss like crazy in combat or anything like that.

It would be different if you had a mage sub, because mages get something at just about every level. So keeping your WHM at 10 while you level to 20 means no Cure II when your main gets to level 22. Keeping BLM at 10 means no Fire when your main gets to level 26. But thieves get nothing in between 10 and 15, so you're fine.

Might as well level the thf to 15. It will help, you will never have to worry about being passed over because of an unleveled sub and also, at 15 thf gets treasure hunter. This will help you when you gil farm even when you get to really high levels.

When you are 30+ you can sub thf and increase item drops to buy all that nice stuff you see at the AH. Should be able to get your thief from 10~15 in a day easily in valkrum, so don't sweat it :)

I THOUGHT I had a planned route... started off as Thief, then Warrior because Thief wasn't working... finally ended up as Red Mage and leveling my White Mage on the side. Things keep changing for me. I'm doing Black Mage now. :biggrin:

At least I have my choice of subs when the time comes. :)

I thought i was going to go Mnk/War untill whatever lvl i can do the samarai quest...

got extremely extremely bored of mnk... started playing war as main but then i realize i hate pulling :)
after that i lvled all my jobs to 10 to see which i'd like... and i'm thinking about sticking with the whm cause it's fun, not that hard, don't have to run out pullin :), and i always get the invites

if you plan on being an advanced job that you plan to use your current main job to sub with it, then i say pick a sub that will penifit you after you have gotten your adv job. Thf was a good choise, its not a waist of time to get it to 15 b/c of treasure hunter. So i say, go ahead and level it to 15 bnut if you were subing mnk, then i would say leave it at 10 b/c it would be a huge waist of time to level it to 15 b/c you'll probably never use it again.
