I'm playing my Red Mage mostly for healing and debuffing, I have no +INT items at all. I'm getting resisted alot when I try to slow, paralyze and etc... will getting more INT items help? I know more INT will make our nukes stronger, but what about resist rates...will high INT lower enemy resist rate?

Your success rate (= Enemy's resist rate) is based on,
1. Enfeebling magic spells that belong to a white magic (Paralyze, Silent, Slow and etc.)
- Your enfeebling magic skill
- Your MND vs Enemy's MND
- Weather
- Date
- Enemy's strongness or weakness
2. Enfeebling magic spells that belong to a black magic (Blind, Gravity, Poison, and etc.)
- Your enfeebling magic skill
- Your INT vs Enemy's INT
- Weather
- Date
- Enemy's strongness or weakness
Your skill has the most influence on your success rate. Then, it is good of you to know what the strongness or weakness of the enemy is.
For example, skeltons are strong against dark and ice but weak against fire and light. As you know, each spell has its element. For example, Paralyze belongs to ice and blind belongs to dark. This means, both Blind and Paralyze are usually resisted when you cast them on very tough or stronger skeltons.
As for stats like INT and MND, I feel that boosting them with equipments and foods will help related enfeebling magic spells to land easier. The latest FFXI guide (http://images-jp.amazon.com/images/P/4757716915.09.LZZZZZZZ.jpg) I have proves that there's actually 10 - 15% difference with or without stats boost. Then, the reason I wrote "Your INT vs Enemy's INT" is because lowering enemy's stats by either Burn (INT) or Shock (MND) also help them to land easier. Therefore, it is good of you to cast Shock before Paralyze and Slow if you are RDM/BLM.
Anyway, I think RDM has to,
- bring foods that boost either INT/MP+ or MND/MP+.
- bring both INT/MND+ gears
- know the element of each spell
- know enemy's strongness and weakness
- be careful of the date and weather
You may see high LV RDMs often change their clothes whenever they cast different spells. This may not happen after we get AFs.

The only clothes changing I'm planning on doing is rings when I'm doing Convert. You will want to have all of that INT+? gear already equiped. I don't see why you wouldn't.

I usually wear Int rings... but use a Mind Neck piece... Still have that old Justice badge even though its well outdated for my level.
