Alright,
I know about the moogle quest and the beds and such.
I know about the gobbiebag increase quests in jeuno.

What I want to know is about the specific items you can buy that add to "storage" not mog safe space.

If I buy a Armor Chest exactly how many items will that hold?
If I buy just a regular Chest....etc.

Dont know all the items so... If you could name the rest off and exactly how much "storage" it provides that'd be awesome!

Thanks ^^

Everything is one storage space, which you can put in your mog house.

The items you can put in the mog house, in layout, take up one storage space in the mog safe. So the "storage" thing is a way to then trade OTHER items in your mog safe into the new STORAGE area on a 1 to 1 ratio. So essentially, by stuffing other items into storage, you are eliminating the fact that things you put in the mog house layout take up mog safe space.

Any layout item takes up only one space in the mog safe, so all it gives you is one space in storage.

People thinking that items give more than one have been found to be making mistakes, like they see 3 storage spaces when they have a chest. They then think the chest adds 3 storage because they did not count their ancient painting and rusty bucket. They are mixed up because they are thinking "Chest" (item you put things inside of in real life) as something to store things in while a "Painting" is not. The "Storage" system has nothing to do with whether an item is something that normally stores things, its simply a 1 for 1 trade between things you put in layout which are taking up one mog safe space and the one space that now gives in storage.

Wow!
That sounds like a bunch of extra work just to buy an item for you house....

Why even have the storage option if you dont actually get any increase?
Its just making up for the space your mog house item took up...
Thats ridicoulus!

Thanks for the info T_T
Glad I didnt waste my money.....

hmm. at first I bought a workbench, and a table, each of those only provided 1 storage, but then I bought a chest, which provided 2 storage. so I thought another chest would help, and bought another one, but this one only added 1 storage. So I'm currently at 5 storage spaces for having 4 pieces of furniture. So I think there are some that add more than one storage slot.

is there a way to get more storage by re-arrangeing things in layout??

While doing a quest in Windurst I got a stationary set. That gave me 3 storage spaces (unless the pots gave me some space). Also the nice surprise is the Moogle made a BRD song with the set, that was pretty cool.

The whole point of storage items is to spruce up the ol' moghouse. A soon as I figured this out I went out and bought some cheapo items and placed them about. My moghouse now has a bronzebed(quest thingy), Flower stand, table, and 2 flowerpots(growing stuff) all for a couple K and the best part is my moghouse...now looks like someone lives there!! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT!!

well I just love it and can enjoy it for the simple asetics of it just my 2 cents kk :)

Yes, pots take up a storage space in the mog house so they give you one "storage" space each.

Stationary set takes up one space in the mog safe, so it gives you one "storage" space.

Everything is like that, it all gives you a 1 for 1 trade off.

Yes, if you think about it IS kind of ridiculous, but its better than NOT getting any storage tradeoff. Before each layed out item in the mog house took up one mog safe space while giving nothing in return. Now it is a trade off.

My guess is if you have 4 items, with 5 storage, you have 5 items. You are forgetting something like a painting, a bucket, a pot, etc.

A good way to check is to go to the mog safe. I think the items which are in the layout of your house are a different color from the other items in the safe. Count them, then count your storage space. It should be the same.
