the game is fun at first. but when you get deeper into the game you hate it more and more. it takes to friggin long to do anything, so unless your unemployed or a school dropout, your not gonna be able to do much. It takes forever to find people to level with and you get rejected most of the time unless ur a certain job(whitemages). Also ive been at the mission where you have to fight a dragon to complete it and you cant do it alone. ive been searching for hours for people to help but nonoe wants to get their hands dirty. you will waste ALOT of time just walking around begging people to help you or to join a party. Its tedious and very irritating. you will get bored after the first free month is over.

i like it too, except for the fact that i lvl SLOW. it takes 2 hours to group, then lvl for 1 hour, someone dies, group falls apart. repeat

Its the shizzle. =P

If you're not having fun, I really think you should quit. lol

If you hate it, then why play?
If its because you're bored, then you should find something that you enjoy. If you hate it and become frustrated, then you're just hurting yourself and wasting money. Try another MMORPG or some other game, because don't pay for something that you don't like.

NSix, I hope your computer works too. My computer keeps on crashing it. =) (Luckily its still under warranty...yay new computer parts. lol )

A real MMO? Uhhh, wtf are you talking aobut? What other fuckin MMO is even out there that is going to rival or surpass FFXI?

Youre going to be waiting for awhile. Until then, you will be playing FFXI, so HA!:spin:

I said it's ok because playing in parties is so slow. Setting it up takes forever and if someone leaves or dies it messes the group up, more waiting follows.

There are some balance issues in the game. Later in the game the only way to lvl up is in parties. As a RDM I don't have problems with this but many do and they are stuck soloing and getting measly EXP. Once you are in a party, make sure you have many hours free ;). One little nick-pick about being a RDM, if I have to cure at least they should given us curaga when things get ugly.

I myself are quite hooked on the game but it's hard not to notice the flaws ;).

the game is great, all the people who say they cant get into parties should just be the leader

I hate it and love it.

I'm about 75% of the way to quitting, 85% of the way to switching servers, and 95% of the way of starting over as a new job.

LFG completely kills this game for me. Just logged off after 5 hours reading a book, while sitting in Jeuno LFG.

The way it stands, usually there's not enough people to form a PT at all on my server. I'm sick of questing or farming, and forming PTs for missions or other non-leveling objectives is even more hellish then forming leveling PTs.

But the game is amazingly fun once I can actually get into a PT, which is what's keeping me here...

http://www.ffwa.org/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif That described it perfectly. Its good in every other aspect but when it comes to looking for parties...it sucks. I'm tempted to become a WHM because of it and that was the last job I would have chosen at the start of this game.

this game is only fun for me if i have a group of people around my lvl hunting monster for items exp or do missions.

the problem for mr atm is, that i couldnt find a party willed to play with me for over a week now. im so fucking bored run around do almost nothing and asking over and over again for party. ( i got some other advanced job as well and did mission 4 with my ls)

the only answer i get is.

"I cant speak english" - > if i answer with some japanese + auto translater i wont get any other reply

"party is full"

"party is disbanding soon"

btw im realy pissed atm and stopped playing for a while, hopeing if i get back there are some guys to party with.

Well, I think the best thing you can do, is find an active LS, I think if you have that and they're in your general level range then your sorted... Since they're friends and you all like to hang out, it makes it fun!

I enjoy it, but I can't really say I love it. Being as antisocial as I am, I tend to solo a lot, and leveling is slow. :)

I love this game but for people who dont like it will most likely not be checking this poll since they dont like FFXI :P

So this poll is very biased.

I picked the first option, but there's a hitch. You can have all the major benefits of this awesome game and none of the major shortcomings if, for instance:

- You find 5 other people who are good players
- You all get headsets
- Everyone gets on teamspeak or similar voice com program
- You all agree to only lvl your jobs of most interest together and progress together.
- You officially have what you call a set party

This way, you can avoid all the BS that finding parties entails. Of course, you'll have to find people who have similar schedules as you, but that's not as hard as it might seem in most cases. If you play with real life friends, it's even better. Try to get your friends to play and you'll be one step closer to a set PT. You'll all be used to playing with each other, will develop good tactics and be more efficient.

My party consists of me, my brother, a good player I met early in the game, his brother, a friend of theirs and a friend of mine. That's 6 people. That's all we ever needed and our jobs of most interest are all around 40/20. Trying to make our playing schedules match as much as possible is well worth the effort when you consider the alternative.

If you still want to know what it's like for 80% of all players (who would want to?!?), you can always level other jobs with the masses of clueless noobs (read: noobs aren't bad people, they just get you killed a lot), cretins and jerks in Vana'diel, waiting for hours at a time to join parties that will most likely be sub-par and will get you killed. If you wanna get it out of your system, be my guest, but you'll be glad you have a set party to fall back on, lol.

I'm so glad ffxi does not have a teamspeak/headset mechanism in place.
