So hows the Taru thief? (especially you John Doe III)

Hello guys,

I'm gettin ffxi when it comes out for ps2 and i was thinking of being a thief main all the way :D. I was just wondering if taru are pretty good as thieves because id like to be a taru. Do they still do pretty good damage? Oh and i was just wondering what john doe's opinion was cuz i've seen him around the forums and he's lvl 50+ and all :).

Actually I am a 50+ Mithra bud, still trying for higher but have been kind of busy with holidays and school. Anywho, I used to have a good friend Qumar the Taru Thief and he was just fine as a Thief. If you want Taru go for it bud!

A Mithra would be the ideal choice for THF.

But then again, any race can make a good THF.

Oh i see...well hume's seem just fine to me :)

We are good, just Tarus have higher int. for stealing and higher agi for trick attack. Humes probably get evened out because they have more HP STR and VIT though (this all helps once you get hate on you after sneak, or when you're pulling, I've taken 150 damge from a mobs special while pulling, so it helps)

I'm saying we have it if needed. Taru have 4 more agi, but so what? I'll be getting in 10 hits while I wait for my one sneak/trick, that being said,
Hume:20 damage per hit
Taru:10 damage per hit

Same as if hate gets on me,
Hume: 500 hp
Taru: 420 hp
Damage taken by Humes: 50
Damage taken by Tarus: 80

Mithra beat us both out, but I didn't want to get hit on :P (there should be male mithras)

I was serious when I said do what job needs..-_- Your party wont want something or you probably wont want something that COULD be better.

I only use +dex or +agi equipment

Sorry I didn't go mithra :rolleyes:

EDIT: I'm serious too, I think it would be cool to be small and damage something big, but Hume are probably better.
