Help me decide on what to blow 40k on.

Ok. I have 40k to speand. I want to update my equip. Here is character info:

Name: Kyomaa
Main Job / Level : THF/25
Subjob / Level: WAR/10

Equip:
Beetle Set Armor ( All pieces. )*
Mahagony Shield (4 defense, level 20)
Small Sword (13 DMG, +2 dex)*
Decurions Dagger (Not Sure)*
Balance Ring (+2 dex) x2
Spike Necklace (+3 str, +3 dex, -6 mnd)
Shield Earrings (+10 hp, -10 mp)
Flame Boomerang (13 dmg, +4 fire, added effect: fire damage)


The ones with a "*" are the ones I am looking to update.

Armor: Not sure if there is anything better for a 25 THF.

Weapons:
Flame Sword (40k in San'dOria and Jueno)
Kaiser Sword ( Not sure on price. )
Mithran Scimitar ( Equip at level 28. Forgot the price on it.)
Corrosive Dagger (40k also in Jueno)
Any suggestions here.

Rings:
Not sure if I can update these with just 40k. I was very fortunate to get these. Costed me around 35k in the first place.

Neck:
Not sure if I can update this either. I love the +3 dex.

Earrings:
Already have replacements for level 35.
2 Drone Earings. (+3 Agi, and wind defense.)

Ranged:
Don't like the Windedge. So I am sticking with Flame Boomerang until I can use a Long Boomerang for the +2 agi boost.


Ok well, here is my info, please help me, I want to be able to solo the Battering Ram with confidence, I can do it now, but I get very scared, because battles with it are very close. I want to know if there is anything I can do to update my equip with just 40k to make me a more formidable thief. Thanks for you input. BTW I play on the server Ramuh.

Mithran scimitar is 100k on my server. Balance rings are 50k a piece (Midgard sucks).

Don't upgrade beetle, just get mercenary captain's gear at 30.

Get a parrying knife if you're looking for a knife. It's 3k on my server (It might have been 2k when I bought *shrug*)

Keep small sword. Then at 30 get centurions sword.

Keep the spike necklace.

Really, your gear is great. Hell, I wear doublet and I'm very close to 30. Here's my list (top of my head)

Doublet set (excluding gloves and head)
Compund Eye circlet
Battle gloves (or whatever)
Parrying knife - Small sword (I switch off)
level 14 shield (I forget the name)
Blood stone (belts aren't that important before the level 55 one with +2 dex +2agi)
Rabbit Mantle (not anything better)
Amethyst Ring
Bastok Ring
Boomerang
Spike Necklace

I don't plan on upgrading anything either, I'm waiting until I can get Mrc Gear. Cent's sword. Drone earrings. The lvl 36 dex+2 rings.

So I would say save it for later equip, unless you really want something new.

I guess you could call me cheap too :P

Anyone else wanna comment? I have a total of 43k and another 7k ish coming in. Killed me another Battering Ram. 4 Skins, 600 a piece, and one horn. 1.6k a piece. And a stack of sleepshrooms, 3k for the stack. So 5k according to my calculations. That puts me at 50k.

All your equipment looks pretty good at the moment, and just wait till 30 for your merc cpt gear. As for weapons, you can upgrade to a Federation dagger or a Windurstian dagger. The Federation dagger runs for like 20k on Odin but i rarely see them for auction, the Windurstian is about 15k and seems to be more common.

As someone said, wait till 30 then buy or use Conquest points on the Mercanary captain gear. I think you have to be sandoria or windurst(most likely windurst) cause i'm bastokian and my only options for rank 3 are Centurian stuff =(

I highly recommond a weapon called the Federation dagger (level25). Its 13dmg 180delayish plus 3accurasy (stats might be off) I bought it in jueno for 20k and it works great.

Also recommend a cape called the nomad mantle or something, i forget the name, but its lvl 24 and stats are something like 3defense 1or2agi and 3evasion, that goes for 15-20k on my server.

If you save up for Leaping Boots or Emporer's Hairpin you'll never need to upgrade them for at least 40 more levels.
