Topic really explains the post. Planning on giving Rdm a try after much reading and playing several jobs 30whm 30drg 15sam 15thf^^ anyway, wandered how Dispel spell really works? is this a spell u could cast at beginning of a fight to prevent the mob from using a spell/skill or do you use Dispel after the mob has used something like defense up/stoneskin or something else? thanks for imput in advance, and if u dont really know the answer to question just dont reply it will only cause confusion^^ thx

You cast Dispel after the enemy has used a beneficial spell or ability such as; Stoneskin, Rhino Guard, Berserk, etc.
The only enemy-beneificial spell I know of that Dispel doesn't get rid of is Blink.
Hope that helped. ^^

Certain mobs, like skels and gobs might come into a fight with some buffs on them, like icespikes or protect, these should be dispelled as well.

Also, it should be noted that if the enemy has more than 1 beneficial effect, Dispel will only get rid of one at random.

So it only dispels positive effects? As in it won't dispel your paralyze or slow?
dispel removes "positive" effect from target. it does nothing to negative effects.

IT removes the oldest spell on an enemy I believe, not at random.
And it's nice to use on just about all enhancements on the enemy.

This is a highly useful spell when fighting crawlers in Crawler's Nest or fighting against gobs/skele's with ice spikes and blaze spikes.
Its also part of my combo for fighting lightning elementals. Silence, then dispel any spikes/enwhatever power they have. Then go to town and make sure that silence stays active.
