Im currently a lvl 16 mithra sam
im thinkin about switchin to dragoon or possibly a bard ^^
or should i stick with my sam? i havent really been enjoyin it very much:( but dragoon seems intrestin as bard but somebody said that for a mithra bard i need to wear alot of +chr items -_-

your only lvl 16 sam and it isn't all that appealing at that lvl.
where as dragoon you get ur wyvern from the start.

30 is when SAM starts to get fun :)
Until then, I agree, SAM plays very similarly to a vanilla WAR (assuming you have WAR subbed).

I just dont seem to have fun with a sam ^^
there aren't alot of skills for meh =[]
imma lvl my sam to 30 and get drg to 60 for uber pentra

Do as you like. If you don't have fun playing a samurai try something ells until u find something you really like. I am very happy with my samurai. Lvling my other jobs just showed me how much I love samurai job more than any other job.

I'm not crazy about samurai either. I love my dragoon and that's why i'm sticking it out on samurai till lvl 30.

Dragoon isn't all that great either, which you will probably find later. If you think Samurai is boring think of Dragoon, yeah you got some dragon but still. Bassicly.....attack, jump, attack jump, attack jump. If you were ever a spear war, its littarly no different except you have a dragon.
The difference is that dragoon can use penta at lvl 49, then super jump at 50.
The only weak point of a high damage dealer is the incredible amount of hate that they generate--that is the weak link in the chain. Aside from subbing thief (at lvl 60), the only other quick way to get rid of hate is using superjump. By upping that once low spot, it lets dragoons rise above the others and allow them to do more damage than the other damage dealer classes for a short time without tremendous risk of death.
So when that 5min superjump wait time is near expiring, a dragoon can spam pentas to his heart's content (particularly with sam sub) and simply superjump away when he gets so much aggro that the tank can't hold the monster and the dragoon is losing HP fast (thanks to armor worse than even sam). The only thing that other melee classes can do is to simply stop attacking for awhile until the thf/pld/war/nin/etc can get back enough hate for them to continue attacking, or try and kill the monster faster than they themselves are getting killed. :p
That and it takes a really secure man to run around in a nut grabbing purple suit! :biggrin:
