Thief steal questions...that HAVENT been answered

Hey guys,

I've been looking around the forums and i havent found what i'm looking for. I was wondering which stat affects steal rate? I heard it was INT...but im not sure. Also, are the only valuable/useful things received from stealing coins? I mean, can you not steal like equipment, potions, etc.? It seems pretty boring too me if coins were the only thing worth stealing.

It may seem awfully boring, but when your thf is lvl 60+, and you're in a full party taking out really really high lvl orcs, you steal gold coins which sell for 100k a stack.

Actually past level 50 there are 3 items that i've seen that boost steal rate +3 :P. A Golve and two rings I believe they were.

I'm not asking if there is just equipment you can get that BOOSTS stealing. I'm asking if you can steal other valuable things from mobs...like equipment...not JUST coins

You can steal arrows and realy...that's about the only other worthless thing i've stolen. Not sure about anything else. Oh..rocks and stuff to.

I steal all kind of things and then end up selling them at the auction house. At least half of the stuff i end up stealing is worth at least a few hundred gil

Other than coins most of the stuff I've stolen was pretty lame although I fail most of the time when I try to steal from non beastmen. You have to steal something for the AF weapon, but that doesn't really count.

Coins aren't bad though since I've been selling silver stacks for 4500 gil in Jeuno which is pretty good for what I get just while leveling.

Ixquic, you should save yourself some gil an just sell the stacks of slivers at the home towns the tax in Jeuno is just INSANE you pay 500 gil or so just to put up your stacks. An back on topic, I have never really got anything from stealing other then coins thats bout it.

Yep, a Quadav Stew from the high quadavs in Beadeaux :P I stole it while doing M10 so I'm set.

And stealing coins for now it's enough... you can make a lot of gil from it. Once I can take on these gobs/yagudo/orcs with no probs, I'll be setaling coins like crazy :cool:

Stealing has a pretty high success rate if you steal from the right monsters. I get lots of Silver Beastcoins from gobs.
A gob dropped a Mithryl Beastcoin once. How much are they worth?
I would really like to find a Rabbit Charm though.

Yeah Zynk the Jeuno AH price is insane. The only reason I was selling there was because I needed the cash bad and there's really no other source of income in qufim.

I someone knows anything that's really worth stealing other than coins (and the occational quest item) I'd be interested.

I steal a lot of cotton myself from Madragora type monsters..

A stack sells for what 4k.. more depending on where, 4k in Wind my server, but I can use those to craft a lot of cotton thread and sell that for even more (anywhere from 5-10k) so.. it all depends

Personally I need the cotton for weaving ^^'

You can steal all sorts of things, Bird type Crows give bird feathers, crawlers I'm not sure, think it was silk, but non beastmen I fin about 50% LESS chance of success

58 thf and stuck there because patch screwed us ><
i believed this was answered before but yes it is int. if you ever wanna check higher lvl thfs when they hunt they either wear int or steal up items while hunting. cant steal armors but being thf lets them drop more often. also to make most money on those coins sell in bastok goes for most and fastest sell there.

Wow, cotton never goes for that much. People are stupid to buy it like that though. I just run over to the weavers guild and buy it for 450 a stack there. And if threads go for 5k then cloths must go for much more (it goes for 2.7k - 3k on midgard).
