Conquest Points

To earn conquest points are you required to kill things that give you xp?

I've been trying to figure out how to make a lot of conquest points but haven't really figured it out yet. After nearly 50 combined levels between my characters I've still only managed to get about 13k conquest points, I'm not sure how people buy multiple rank 4 or 5 items if it takes that long to get conquest points.

Yes you have to kill stuff that gives exp, i think its 1 conquest for every 7 exp or something like that... I currently have 7k and ive bought a tunic, gloves, headband, couple re-raise spells, and a warp so you might just be doing something wrong ^^

you also need your signet equipped to gain cp.

Yup, I have had signet on me for at least 90% of all my xp (sometimes it runs out after long pt's so that's why the 10%)

It must take forever to buy the 32k stuff if there's nothing else to it

People are probably buying some of the stuff at the AH as well as with conquest points. I know I am...

Remember, you get ALOT more conquest points going from 20-30 then you would from 10-20. The longer it takes to level up, the more points you get.

Are you sure? I'm lvl 37 with my blm and lvl 12 with whm and it seems like I get just as many points when I play my whm as I do when I play my blm.

You also get more conquest points for hunting in a area that doesn't allready belong to the town you belong to.

I think the current CP system works like this (don't think it has been changed during the last few patches, if it has please feel free to correct me).

- With signet equipped, you gain 1 CP for every 10 exp.

- When your home country is ranked #1 in this week's conquest ranking, you gain 1.5x more CP (1.5 CP for every 10 exp).

- When your home country is ranked #2 or 3, you gain 1.5x more CP ONLY when you are fighting at regions not owned by your home country.

- There will be a 2x factor if there is an alliance between 2 countries, your country is ranked #2 or 3, and you are fighting at regions not owned by the #1 country(s).

It takes like 250 points to go from 1->2 and it takes like 4500 for 20->21......obviously you get more conquest points, the higher up you get in the levels.

And it takes 6800 points at lvl 37... I should see a noticeable difference between 37 and 12 and like I said I don't

But that could be because the lvl 12 places I fight at are generally beastmen ruled and the lvl 37 places are Windurst ruled.

If it's 1 cp for every 10xp then that's a pretty good reason why it's fairly hard to notice the difference especially with bonuses at the places at lower lvl's... ie lvl 12 is 2500 or so xp, if you get a 2x bonus that's about 5000xp... 1/10th of that is 500, 1/10th of 6800 is 680... ie you are not going to notice a big difference between 500 and 680.

Like I said it must take forever to get the 32k items... that could take upto 320,000 xp, that's like doing lvl 37 47 times, or lvl 20 71 times... :eek: just for 1 item.

Someone hunting Conquest Points with a 1/10 ratio would be utherly insane... Atleast when aiming to buy the higher end items.

I rasied my thf up to 60, and after not buying anything with CQ, I had about 65,000 points.

Cool thanks let's see about what your average CP point was per XP point.
55-60 = 100,000 xp
50-55 = 57,000 xp
40-50 = 74,500 xp
30-40 = 64,500 xp
20-30 = 53,500 xp
10-20 = 35,000 xp
1- 10 = 13,350 xp

so you had a total of 397,850 xp by lvl 60 (according to this chart xp chart (http://ffvault.ign.com/?dir=guides&content=leveldata) )

397,850/65,000 = 1 CP per 6.12 XP points

For me, I've made about
152,650 xp total
152,650/13000 = 1 CP per 11.74

So you did considerably better per xp point than me for some reason, if I had been doing the same as you I should have nearly 25,000 conquest points by now.

Was all 65,000 CP's from just your Thf?

Guards at your hometowns gates let you spend them, you need certain ranks to buy certain items though. STuff get's more expensive also with higher ranks, it goes something like this

rank 7 32000 pts

Not directly no, what people do is buy the Conquest Points items and sell them in the AH to make gil though, so indirectly you can.

I read somewhere that killing beastmen gives better exp to cp ratio than killing animals.

If your almost 40 Zen, for example, when raising my Pld to 40 on my 1st leveling job, I had about 30k CQ by the time I hit 40 to buy the Sandorian CQ Armor and other lil goodies. I think it takes a whole bunch of things into account, skill chains, xp chains, crap like that perhaps.

Hm, do expeditionary trips when successful get you a fair amount of conquest points as well?
