This happened last night and made me want to blast people so bad, but i didn't because there was no point. I am lvling my dragoon in the dunes and my pt was fighting some snippers. After killing one, 2 goblin gamblers attacked us. After half our party died, those remaining ran for it. We got back to selbina, giving /shout of "train incoming" the whole way back. We make it to town, heal and step outside. 3 dead people from another pt, with the surviving people bitching about noobs for the next 10 min.

Trains are an aspect of this game, they are not always caused by noobs attacking things that are too tough. In our case, we got a shitty link. We gave plenty of warning. If you see a warning, you have two options - A) Run for it yourself B) Take on the train. Either action is up to you. If you fight the train and die, it is your fault for not running and overestimating your own pt strength.

Trains suck and it pisses everybody off, but shit happens.

I consider Valkurm to be a different situation,
however some of the trains that I've seen in Qufim this week have been completely unexcusable and just bad taste.

My lvl up spot right now is upper delkfutt (or was at least) and I spend a lot of time going between jeuno and there. Usually there are at least 5-6 groups exp'ing out there these days. 3 times I have passed through at night to see someone train 2 banshees and a couple wights.

By one person or one group trying to save themselves from 15-20minutes of exp loss, the banshees and wights usually wipe out 10-12 people and screws over everyone who is trying to get exp. These people then must wait to be raised themselves or interrupt what they were doing.

Even if you say training is harmless and its the other groups' responsibility to avoid the train, if no one died at all you are wasting a tremendous amount of other peoples' time when they run into the tower to avoid your train.

My thoughts at least.

I'm not saying trains are harmless. they are anything but. they flat out suck. What i am saying is that they are not always the result of attacking things too tough. Any time you have multiple groups all doing there own thing in a finite area, links are going to occur.

Here is an example of what i meant by taking responsibility for your actions when warned of a train - You are reading a book in a park, I am walking along when multiple dogs start chasing me. I need to run by you to get away. I yell that there are dogs chasing me and i am coming your way. You are really enjoying your book and don't want to move. At this point, it is your decision to get out of the way, or stay and continue reading or try to draw the dogs off of me. If you stay and get mauled, is that my fault?

Trains in quifim sucked worse than selbina because you had to worry that someone had trained from the tower side as well. When a pt of lvl 20 attack leeches and banshees, yes they are idiots and that is a terrible train that is their fault. But if they were attacking pugs or worms at the lake, and elementals and banshees linked, well, get out of the way when they warn

i'm really surpised no one has posted an opposing rant of some kind. I see the post has been viewed many times, but no posts. I'm amazed that this topic hasn't caused a flame war when less controversial topics become epic sagas of personal attack on the post'ers. Not sure if i just explained it to a point that can't be argued, or if no one really cares about trains. either way, i'm amazed.
