How would this be? I would take the pally up to around 50 with a subjob of a warrior. Then switch over to a Ninja sub-job. how would this be? Would this be a good combo?

No. I'm a Paladin/Warrior and the hate slips away from me sometimes, I couldn't imagine trying to tank without provoke. Paladin/Ninja might be the toughest dude in the game but if he isn't the one taking the hits it won't do you much good in a group.

If you have a good thf in the party, Pld/Nin is not only doable... but pretty ****ing uber.

Are you serious?
Not to stereotype ANY class combo, but Paladins do seem to be one of those few where there's really only one combo for them : Pal/War.
They just don't seem like Paladins without Provoke.
And even if they could maintain their aggro (i.e. Thief Trick Attack), without a shield they'd be punching bags, no?
(and what happens when there's no THF in the party?)

*shrug*

..... a pld/nin would still use a shield dude. Only reason was to sub ninja would be to use blink bags. Thf can keep the aggro np, and yes it would be uber.

Why do Pal's have to be tanks? Why cant they just be really useful. I know its their mandate but damn try something new. IF everyone's thinking the same thing it's only gonna take one Ender Wiggin to kill us all.

Extreme - gotcha. Thought you were suggesting a dual-wielding Paladin at first. Shield Paladin would Blink would be a very interesting combo indeed.

Gabe - like I said in my post, I generally don't try to pigeonhole class combos, but Paladin is one of the classes *meant* to tank.
A pure offense Paladin is akin to a WHM meleeing and not healing, or a Ranger who's never used a bow/x-bow/gun.
In the end do what you like. I feel it's silly to not play up certain strengths of some classes, and Paladins are defense-oriented in nature. But hey, to each their own.
