newb here... BLM/BRD?

Ok, what's up what you want to know. It is good and it is bad.

The BLM can nuke like hell still but when your a Bard you don't have time to Nuke.

It kind of is against the Purpose. It is kind of like having a Pld/drk It sounds good but in reality it doesn't work.

Now I will say this. I am thinking about playing around with the Blm/brd

Though if you flip it to brd/blm it might work. But then your Blm is only as a support fighter, only when it much it hits.

Instruments greatly improve the songs effectiveness but are bard-only, meaning you have to have a bard main job to use them. Without instruments all you can do is sing songs. If all you are doing is singing, you can only sing one song at a time. So with bard as a subjob you would only be able to have one weak song at a time. The healing abilities gained by subbing white or redmage instead of bard heavily outweigh the one song you'd be singing as a bard.

i think brd/blm is a good class if the bard is used as an attacking weapon, that is, rather than spending your time healing and buffing, use more debuffing and enfeebling spells.
eg. put an enemy to sleep, then nuke it with your blm spells!!
the only problem is mp, but if your taru it shouldn't be too bad, especially if you've got an mp regeneration song going.

Not viable really... You get half power nukes... instead of doing blizzard for 70 on a crawler u'd do it for 35 and you would have even less MP to work with. WHM is really the only viable mage sub for brd... rdm won't work for the same reason as BLM.. enfeebling skill halved
