Attack/Defense?

Please could some just explain how these work? Am I correct in assuming that defense decreases the dmg done to you, while the chance for the nme to hit you is based on their attack, and your evasion/dexterity? O_o

And what does "+5 accuracy" do on an item? :)

Am a bit unsure about it all. Thx in advance.

hmm the words explain themself already don't they : /

attack is your attack power. your damage you're doing.
defense is your defense. higher = less damage you take.

accuracy and evasion percentage are hidden values. you'll never see it. to hit or to miss is compute from your skills/stats and nothing to do with attack/defense

those numbers are not the only thing that comes into computing the output by the way.
your weapon skill and STR and attack power VS your enemy's VIT and defense = final damage
your weapon skill and dex VS enemy's evasion skill and AGI = your final accuracy

Also, I found that the damage of your weapon(D#) is NOT displayed in your attack thing in your equip manu. I kept my DRK AF1 until like level 53 because it was always 1 pt higher atk.
