supposed to get this job...i have done the beastmaster and ranger quest and both were simple...
now i read through the ninja quest walkthrough and it looks extremely difficult...
how are people going about completing this quest? are we supposed to just beg higher level players to help us or what?
obviously i cant solo the leeches lol...and there is not a party alive that would travel all the way from jueno to help me do the ninja quest.
I just got ninja unlocked last night, and yes begging is the Key =) It takes a little patience ming you and some luck as well, but you'll be surprised how high lv jp players will help you. For the leech part I managed to find a 60+ Dragoon and Rdm to help me. They even died too, when they picked the wrong leeches to fight! But they still continued on and killed the leeches for me. Oh i died as well btw. Word of caution, dont stop xping as soon as you hit 30, get more xp to cover at least 2 or 3 deaths. For the norg part I found a high lvl thf/wtm who knew the way, knowing the way is the key. I got there quickly, but had to wait almost 2 hrs to find someone to take me.
One key portion though. When you go to take the coral, bind in Bostok and then travel all the way to norg without binding. Once you get there and finish that potion of the quest, just suicide and it cuts a lot of time travelling back to bastok to unlock the job. Oh and you may want to buy a lv 1 katana while in norg as well.
Happy trails!

thanks for the tips...i have warp so i dont need to worry about suicide..i can just warp to my homepoint.
i heard that buying potions is the key if you cant find white mage,,,does this hold truth? for the travel to norg...you can invis potions on yourself or soemthin..if so how many do you think i would need.
also is it absilutely a must to possess maps of those regions?
why couldnt the beastmaster be toughest and ninja easiest lol....heheheeh.
The trip from kazam to Norg was not that long actually. Most of it can be covered on Choco. The hard part is getting through the seaserpent grotto. But the grotto part is actually quite short. I got through by getting sneak cast on me about 3 times. Its actually pretty hard to get a map of the grotto, so again going with someone who knows the way is more important than just going with someone who can cast sneak.

Navigating sea serpent's grotto to norg is easier than it sounds. Buy a silent oil from the AH (or two, to be safe). Choco from kazham to sea serpent's grotto. Once inside, use silent oil, hug the right wall til you reach a stone door, open, hug right wall til you reach norg. If sneak wears off, use another silent oil (or if you're a thief just use flee, you should be able to reach Norg safely).

Am I alone in thinking that begging others for help is not the way to get by in this game? I plan on being a thf/nin until i get to 70 (or whatever the cap may be by the time i get high enough) so getting the nin job asap would be great. But instead of begging for help I plan to level to the point where people form my linkshell and I can do the quest together. I know this means I might not get it till somewhere as late as 40+ but i think its much better than sending tells and shouting to every high level player I see. Its not that I dont think they would help (in fact I had a very nice lvl 61 whm randomly tell me and take me to gugsen to find a skull for no reason what so ever) but not everyone want to be bugged and if you look around the forums youll see some japanese players and importers actually hate it.
I personally want to get through quests because I can so there is some sense of accomlishment, rather than just finding someone to do it for me while i sit back and watch.
On a similar topic, i dont understand the leveling to 30 with little or no sub and rank 1 just to get to the advanced jobs as soon as possible. Why not enjoy the game?
But thats just my opinion.

I respect your opinion....but not everyone has people to help them...it's great you have a linkshell that will help you when ready but i have noone to really help ma..so what am i supposed to do? yeah i could level up untill i am 70 and then solo the quest hehe...but that is futile exercise.
the reason people are hurrying up and levelling as fast as they can is some people don't like the basic jobs...and only want to play as advanced jobs...like when i first read about the game the first thing i wanted to be was ninja and a samurai.
i could care less about the quest or the satisfaction of working to complete it...i just want the job so i can actually enjoy the game...as i am bored stiff playing as a mage...don't want to be a mage i want to be a ninja...hehe....if you get what i am saying.

You've just gained my respect.
They even died too, when they picked the wrong leeches to fight!
Ya....that happened to me too, was like 300 per hit from them and I was lv50s or so, but I managed to run away in time. ;)
