I seem to have this problem with any type of music on my computer. I guess the easiest way for me to explain it would be if I said I was playing the music in winamp ( including the FF11 music). Ok say I pick a song and I start listening to it, its going all good when after say... a minute the song starts skipping itself in random intervals ( say I was watching the winamp skin to see the time of how long the song has been playing for it should go like this 1:01, 1:02, 1:03 ; but its going like this 1:01, 1:04, 1:09).
It gets really annoying after a while. If anybody knows why this happens PLEASE post here. I was actually suprised that it did it in-game, FF11 is the first that did it :o

FFXI consumes A LOT of system resources...
Running both FFXI and most music players is an invitation to, based on your system specs, slowdown/resource conflicts of one or the other...

all I could really recommend is increasing the size of your Windows Virtual Memory (http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/expertzone/columns/mcfedries/03june16.asp) some and see what happens...

Do you get the same problem with other players? Try another version of winamp (2,3 or 5) and windows media player. If it's still skipping must be something to do with your drivers, although its sounds like a fault with winamp?

If you're running anything in the background while playing FFXI you can expect the systems resources to get eaten up fast. If that was just a bad example and you are saying the game's music itself is doing something like that. Then I'd say you probably have either a lot of programs in the background running causing that or your system just need more resources to play the music smoothly..
