Australians on FFXI

Im curious whether or not there are other Aussies out there on FFXI? I would like to know which version of the game you have (Jap, or I-merican :P) and how you aquired it. Did you order from over seas? I assume you would have....
Any troubles with payment?
Is the game actually compatible with Aussie equipment (cuz i know you cant use american xbox games on aussie xbox - just incase its the same on computer (im playing it safe here i dont wanna get screwed by ordering somthing in and have it not working))?
How does it run on non-aussie servers?

You should be able to play the American PC version on your PC with out a problem. For the Playstation 2 version it will not be like that unless you were to import an American Playstation 2, pay extras for an american hdd and network adaptor.

I am from Australia and should be getting the game on PC during Christmas sometime. I am getting someone from America to ship it to me because it's cheaper than getting a company to do it.

also, u'd need an NTSC-PAL converter, unless u have a dual-standard tv, to use an american ps2 in australia.

regarding the purchase, there r 2 ways; order from an australian shop that carrys import games, or order from the us shops using ur credit card and have them ship one to u.

and like felpa_de_osa says, there's no problem w/ installing and playing the pc version on the australian pc's. pc's r built to the same global standard, and makes no difference. (although s-e can implement the way of detecting where the users r connecting from and possiblly deny the connection if out of na or japan, but they haven't done any of that kinda things.)

for us stores, the only trustworthy online store i know that ships outside of us is Electronics Boutique; http://www.ebgames.com they charge US$29 for shipping to australia, and u must order w/ ur credit card.

if someone else can come up w/ better place w/ better shipping rate, that's better.

btw, amazon.com only ships this game within us, so not them.

To do this, I'll sell the game to you over ebay, to give you the security it provides. Also I will only charge you for shipping (which you can decide on based on prices offered at the post office), and an additional $5, on the price I paid, which I will prove by sending you a copy of the store recipe.

The price of postage is a lot cheaper for Aussies, I wish they were selling it 2 weeks ago when I bought my copy. As far as running a US import, I had no problem with the game.

If any new aussies buy the game and want to join Bismarck, send me a PM for a worldpass, there are a few aussies on the server, and more would be welcomed.
