whats a somewhat close, just general timeline for leveling up?

Just curious, I know there is no real answear considering theres hundreds of ways this could go. But what is a somewhat decent amount of hours played to reach level 20? then the time different from 20 to 21. (assuming you spend most of your time leveling and not doing missions and quests). I'm just about level 13 now with 23 hours logged in, I asked quite a few random people that were around 16-19 how many hours they have logged in and they all replied with nothing short of 4 days logged in (2 had over 5 days and all of their ranks were under 3 too).

I'm just wondering if those people may just walk off at times, or maybe do quests and other things aside from leveling. I'm a little worried, it's hard for me to believe it takes 80+ hours to reach level 20?

im at almost 2 days of playtime and am only level 12 with:
lvl 30 Great Sword
lvl 22 Sword
lvl 20 Axe
lvl 10 Polearms
lvl 3 Woodworking

im thinking about doing an intensive few hours on woodworking or lvling up, i aint decided yet. im not rushing, im just taking my time really but i think ill spend a few hours each week working really hard then ease off abit and cruise... its more likly to keep me interested in the game!

I kinda want to race through the warrior job. Once I unlock Samurai I'll go as slow as I need to and enjoy the game. Untill then I just feel like I gotta rush through as fast as possible, gotta hit level 30 asap. I was just wondering if it's possible to hit level 20 by lets say 50 hours, or if it's almost a guaranteed 80+ hours, in which case I have alllooot of playing to do.

I have about 7 days playtime, and am currently level 25 whitemage, and 10 blackmage.

I find that most people in my linkshell who are of similar level have invested closer to 8 or 9 days of playtime. Generally speaking, if all goes well, it takes from 2-4 hours to do one level. In a good group, you'll get from 1000-2000 exp an hour, and at level 25 you need 5500 exp to gain the next level.

Keep in mind though that it can often take a long time (hours, even) to both travel to a zone and/or find group, so there is a lot of downtime in there, too. My 7 days playtime includes a lot of time a) learning the game (I wasn't in beta) b) quests & missions and c) helping other people.

Your mileage may vary.
