FFXI Payment options. I Dont' use a credit card and I tend not to use checks (MO all the way) but I was wondering if they can bill you the payment, because if they can't then I won't be able to play the game :( wich I do not like at all if I can't.

I don't think that they can.. which is kinda a bummer since I was kinda out there also. Good thing I was able to get my mom to put my account on her credit card! but yeah, I think it's credit card or bank card.

the payment options are visa and mastercard only. doesn't have to be a credit card, can be a debit or prepaid card.

The prepaid cards would be like a Visa Gift Card or a gift card from another company. They still have to have a credit card logo.

If you don't live in the US you might not be able to find a prepaid or gift card that has the visa or mastercard logo

I've had credit problems and can't get a credit card. I had zero problems getting a VISA checkcard and using that for all mmorpgs from EQ to FFXI.

its rather easy really. If in the USA search "your city name" visa checkcard " or some such thing. Like I searched for:

Omaha visa checkcard

I found several banks in my area which had them.
I went to a bank that sounded ok.
I opened a checking account with 50 bucks.
The visa checkcard/atm card came like a week later or less.
I used it in Everquest with no problem.

These are nice because they query the account at each transaction, or at least did in EQ. SO if you you don't have enough in the account EQ says "could not proccess that" right at the screen you input it, rather than you getting an overdraft.

This doesn't even have to be your current checking account/bank.
Get on JUST for FFXI or other mmorpgs, then stick like 50 bucks in it. Keep track month to month how much is in there and put in more when you have to.

I am going to get my Playstation 2 version of the game but will not be able to play it right away because I will not have a way to pay for it when I do thats when I will start playing it

I did some searching and came up with this:

It is US based and while it says it's for teens I read over the terms and anyone can use it. If you are under 18 you need an adult to get it for you. I'll moast likely go with the USBank version myself, but you have a few places to choose from.

how do u use ur debit to pay for FFXI? I have a friend who has a debit but doens't use a credit card. I know he's dieing to play FFXI and it would be great if someone could tell me how he can use debit to pay for FFXI.

Same problem here, Germany. I'm 20, so I could get a CC, but my income isn't high enough. I've been playing International Ragnarok Online before, and it had an option to pay with PayByCash. PayByCash offers various ways to pay, some that I didn't even hear of before *g* Anyway, they also offered bank transfer. It always needed a week to get processed, but it worked well.

My Dad does have a Mastercard, and I can use that one for the free month when my game arrives tomorrow or wednesday, but payin' with it is a no-no.

worldbank.cc does offer such a Visa Giftcard, but you can't recharge it, and for Germany, they charge 50 Euros (about $45) just for the card. I noticed too late that you can't recharge it, already transfered $70 (card plus $25 cash on it), so I retracted from the contract and am now waiting for my money to be transfered back to my bank account.

So I've got about a month to find a solution for this problem. Wish me luck or bring in some ideas ;)

worldbank.cc isn't delivering to the Netherlands as far as I know. And think of it, you ALWAYS pay 50 Euro for a new card!!! So even when you just want to pay FFXI another time and don't have enough money on your card, you have to order a NEW one. This is only practicable if you charge it with about 400-600€ in the beginning. Don't fall for it.

It seems to be a very dubious company, as I've found a whole German forum that features only fraud problems with this corp.

At the moment I really hope that I'll get my money back. 74€ aren't really peanuts for me, ESPECIALLY not a few weeks before X-Mas!
