What does enhence skill affect?

Does it affect the duration of our buffs or the effectiveness? Thx!

This depends on the spell in question. Different spells react differently to Enhancement skill:

-Bar<element>(ra) spells become more powerful (increased elemental effect and damage resistance)

-En<element> spells deal more damage per successful hit

-Stoneskin stops more damage based on your Enhancement skill

-<element> Spike spells deal more damage, and their special effect (Paralyze for Ice Spikes, Stun for Shock Spikes) increases in power as Enhancement skill increases.

-Stealth spells (Sneak, Deodorize, Invisible) have a tendency to last longer as your Enhancement skill increases.

Some spells do not seem to be affected at all. Protect(ra) series, Shell(ra) series, Regen series, Haste, Refresh, and a few other spells seem to get nothing from Enhancement skill.

Just a sidenote, there's a very simple way of training enhancing magic, stand next to the moggle in Kazham and cast Baraera/waterga/fira/stonega one by one until your MP's drained, then change job, change back, and continue doing it. Saw someone doing it and spent some time on it and my enhancing's level flew. :biggrin:

I've not seen any impact on Blink from Enhancing Magic. It always has around a 50% chance to block any attack or spell/effect that targets you, and always stops exactly two attacks before it disappears. The duration seems to be fixed as well (around 10 minutes? I'm not really sure - usually too busy to watch the clock whem I'm fighting :sweat: ).

I was worried about my Enhancement skill until I got Regen at 21. Regen is an Enhancement spell that you'll be casting all the time while grouped since it heals for more than Cure II over time and only costs 15 mana to cast. It helps you manage health bars as well. I just started using it last night and got around 7 levels of enhance in about a hour and a half. I see it maxing out quite soon now.
