hey all

i got FFXI a couple weeks ago and was playing it without incedent up until recently. about 3 days ago, my computer would completely crash and give me a Blue screen of death after 2-45 min of play. the blue screen says that the problem was caused by my nv4_disp.dll file and PAGE_FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA. now i dont know anything about the page message, but nv4_disp.dll is the driver for my Nvidia Gforce4 TI 4400. So i updated those drivers as well as the drivers for my Sound Blaster Audigy, and my VIA 4 in 1 mother board chipset drivers. However, it still crashes. I then updated my Directx to 9.0b, and test all the functions and it came back clean. however, it still crashes. I searched the forum already for anything that had blue screen or crash, and tried upping my virtual memory and disabling my AGP fast write. NOTHING HAS WORKED!

please, can anyone give me some ideas, or more things to try and fix this problem. THANK YOU!

p.s. im pretty computer literate, but if it something pretty complicated, i would appreciate some step by step instructions. thanks.

I have the same problem, It really sucks. Sometimes it would just kick me to the desktop and sometime it would give me that Blue screen. I hate the blue screen. Anyway i hope someone will help us on this.

I had this problem once, not specifically with final fantasy XI, but with windows (whenever I tried to boot windows it would give me this error message (and other ones occasionally) and restart my computer over and over). I thought it was my hard drive that was screwed up, but it actually turned out to be faulty ram - so if you dont find a solution try moving your ram sticks around a bit, or replace them, and see if that works. I dont know that it will, but it's a possibility.
Good luck >.<

Yeah actually I had problems like that an like the previous post before mine, it turned out to be my memory. I would see error messages regarding my vid card driver too, but it was not my video card. After I RMA'ed the sticks and got new ones, never saw a blue screen again.
