Lets start a thread where everyone posts those pieces of armor they have that should be a staple for a whm. post level and stats if you have em!!

Justice Badge - MND +3 neck with some defense, easy quest in windhurst

Yew wand - MND +3 club, costs ~ 800gil on bismarck windhurst AH

Cotton doublet - def 18(?) body, ~ lvl 22, 5k on AH

Compound eye circlet - def4 evasion 5 head slot, easy quest involving killing crawlers in WSB

Scentless armlets - def4 evasion 5 (?) hand slot

This is just a small list off th etop of my head, when I get home and see the exact stats i will update. All you higher level whm's dont hesitate to post your highlevel stuff too!

There is a really nice robe. The priest's robe, but i am unsure where to get it. Some people say the cakes for the church quest gives it, but some others say a named monster drops it... Does anyone know how/where you get the Priest's robe?

There are two items which are commonly confused with each other. The Priest's Robe is a level 17 +1MND +2 Dark resist body armor which is very rare - I believe it is either a NM drop, or perhaps a treasure chest reward from Ghelsba (I've heard both, but have never actually seen one obtained, so can't confirm).

The Friar's Rope is a level 14 belt which gives DEF 2, MND +1, MP +5, and +2 to Light and Dark resistances. It is obtained by completing the fourth Cathedral quest in San d'Oria (obtain 2 lumps of beeswax).

Thanks for clearing that up icemage. I don't think people are mixing the two items up though. It is just that some online sites (well, allakhazam) have information about a quest called cakes for the church that supposedly gives the priest's robe. They also have information about the the friar's rope quest too. Some of people have even posted comments saying that they got the robe from the quest.

Just recently though i noticed that someone there had said the priest's robes drop from a nm though.

There is an original, incorrect quest list, translated from Japanese, that quite a few English sites are using. They are all stealing someone else's info, so I guess it serves them right that the info is wrong... :rolleyes:

Friar's Rope is a quest reward from the cathedral in Sandoria -- this is the reward for bringing the beeswax to one of the friars. This is the "Cakes for the Church" quest, although it is not called that in the English version. Cakes = Beeswax. I don't remember offhand what the name of the quest is in the English version... but you'll know it when you get it. Talk to everyone in the cathedral.

Guess I can also reply on-topic too... I really like the Hermit's Wand, the other Ashmaker Gotblut drop. Level 13, MND+2, INT+2, casting interruption down 25%. It's pretty cheap from the AH on Phoenix, I paid only about 1.5k.

Also, anytime you're soloing, get a nice hammer. You'll really like the extra damage. Bronze hammer at level 5, brass hammer at level 9, I think. Decurion's hammer is the next step up.

Get and Ascetic's Ring, of course. Then later get a Saintly Ring, MND+2, or a Lapis Lazuli Ring, MND+1 and a couple points of water resistance. There's an HQ version of the Lapis Lazuli ring too, but I've haven't seen it for sale yet.

Does anyone know where to get the Astral Rings?

They are essential to my Config, being Elvaan I need the MP bonus so I can compete (note; not do better) than Taru WHM's, I chose Elvaan for personal preferance knowing Taru was better in the long run but that was my choice and I like it.

I can scrimp a bit on the +mnd bonus and take the HP->MP rings because of my mnd advantage of taru but basically with my config I'll be very similar to the Taru in the long run (minus a small amount of MP compared to not using Astral rings/shield)

The hairpins also make a great addition to an Elvaan WHM. I'm wearing the brass hairpin on my head now and get -4HP +12MP. The brass hairpin was quite affordable at the AH. The silver hairpin is the next step up -6HP +15MP. The hairpins don't offer any defense but with the superior HP and vitality of an Elvaan the tradeoff of a few HP and no defensive bonus for more MP is a good one. Couple that with 2 Energy earrings and 2 Energy rings (+3 MP each, +2 (or +3?) dark resist EACH) and you're able to overcome some MP obstacles as an Elvaan at the lower levels. :thumbsup:

I found out where the Astral stuff comes from, thank god for the translator, asked a lvl 70 Mithra WHM who has them both and an Astral neck he/she said they got it from Castle Ostroja, being that this dungeon is mainly 25+ with emphasis on the + It will take a little bit before i can get going in there my question now is... Where can it be found, on a monster, in a chest, or quest reward?
