after dredging through the lower levels of a black mage...which can be a very frustrating,difficult,headache....i finally get out of the single numbers and into the double numbers.

and oh....how pleased i am..

after dealing with that disgrace called lower level magic...my eyes have finally seen true "black magic"....the most sadistic awesome spell i ever seen..lol...blaze spikes.

dude engulfs himself in flames...and then anytime someone hits him they catch on fire....hahahaa...best ever...animation is awesome.

this is why i wanted to be a black mage.

wooooo i hope there is more to come like this awesome spell....bio is good too..but blaze spikes is unreal.

btw...what determines the blaze spike damage output...im doing 6 damage with it which is not bad at all..consideirng it is doing that everytime soemone hits me....

I know I would always power myself up with Blaze Spikes man that stuff is awesome also I had Bio that scroll is pretty good as well but not as useful as Blaze Spikes.:cool:

i cant imagine spells getting better than this one.

this should be the highest level spell in black magic lol...it defines black magic.

anyone who can survive using stone & water for hours and hours and hours...should be rewarded with soemthing.

because those lower level spells are horrible hehe...with the exception of aero.

poison,blind shouldn't even be in the game..the yare so useless i would have better luck picking up a pebble and throwing it at the enemy....if i could unlearn spells i would unlearn them.

btw i think you overpayed for blind/bind....i got them both for 50gil and under...or you can get them for free on a drop.

but i think i payed like 2,500gil for blaze spikes and bio..maybe more i cant even remember..so i guess i overpayed for those...but it was worth it.

also drain is going for like 15,000gil on my server. DOH! :(

blaze spike is probably one of the spell i have not used with my black mage ever after i started to party with him (which is level 12)

Atleast it helps though also u can make it even better by equiping Rings that have have a raise of fire which will will make it even stronger.

6 damage everytime i get hit? that is 6 damage more then i was dealing out before i had it.

well maybe for you....but i dont have great parties and all of that....it is just me,my staff,and my spells.

in order to go on continue playing this game, there's one thing that's required, and that's partying
in a party it's bound to fight monster that's tote or totetote (i think in NA version it's traslated as very tough and incredibly tough)
how can blm take hits against those monsters? shitty, period. to risk your life to indo 6 damage? + the moster at high leve will resist that 6 damage fromt ime to time
8 mp can be used in better places, i call it cure 1

yeah...so maybe in high levels it isn't the greatest spell....but uhhh i am only level 10.

and right now it's awesome....im not fighting tough monsters...the toughest monster i fight is a canyon rarab.

yes i realize you have to party to get farther up in levels...but i am not very social and not very comfortable with parties...it's cool if it's like a 6 man party...so i can just hang in back...but if it's like 2-3 people it's very uncomfortable.

but that is then...and this is now...and right now im loving the blaze spikes.

Blaze Spikes was a true Godsend at levels 10-14. Mandragora and Pygmaoi were my favorite prey, as they each hit twice per round, taking twice the damage! After level 14 I simply formed parties to level up, and have not cast it since.

I saw a BLM in beta do an interesting trick solo. He used a WHM sub, cast Blink, then used Bind on an enemy to hold it while he cast some big damage spells. When he was starting to run low on MP he would cast Sleep II (sometimes with Elemental Seal) to put the monster to sleep, then retreat and rest.

Oddly enough, this DID seem to work. It's a very slow way to solo as a high level BLM, but it can be done.

yeah you guys are right...i finally got into some parties and blaze spikes was useless...

but still it is cool to go solo and mess around a bit and use it..hehe...still a really cool spell...but yeah it becomes useless in a party.
