I've recently taken up alchemy for the sole purpose of synthesizing powders relevant to the specific jutsus a Ninja uses. I've been looking everywhere for the ingredients involved in making Blink Powder. I can't find it on any recipe list yet in-game everyone claims it can be made via alchemy. Let's get this sorted please. What do you need to make your own blink powder?

I've asked several people in-game, and have heard everything from Alchemy to Woodworking.
I'd like a definite answer as well>_<

My translation may be wrong since I'm playing the JPN version.
To make blink powder, you will need:
blink powder x 33 = black ink + 2 kenaf paper + wind crystal
(carpentry skill ~25)
To make kenaf paper, you will need:
kenaf paper x 12 = elm log + moko grass + distill water + thunder crystal
(carpentry skill ~41/alchemist skill >21)
To make black ink, you will need:
black ink x 2 = 2 windurst tea leaf + nebim knight + distill water + dark crystal
or
black ink x 2 = willow log + nebim knight + distill water + dark crystal
(alchemist skill ~1)

Just curious how much gil investment are we looking at to get those ranks in Carpentry and Alchemy...

After looking at the prices at several different auction houses on my server, I've come to the conclusion that you won't be saving much money making your own blink powders.
Blink powders on average sells about 4800-5000 gils on my server.
The materials required to make a full stack(99) of blink powders are ~4000 gils not counting any failures.
So in the end you're saving about 1000 gils for every 99 blink powder you use, not much if you ask me, definately not worth the time to up your carpenting skill if you're just after the powders. But if you're interested in other items under that craft, then by all means go ahead.

To raise skill?
I spent 1k tonight trying to make some arrowheads, and can you guess what? I had no craft raise, to guild you need LOTS of money, it is much cheaper just to buy the pouches IMO. You're likely to spend millions raising both of those IF you know what you're doing.
I for one, am only subbing NIN, so it's a major waste to try and make powders.

Yah... It really would take a load of gil to raise your guild craft levels high enough to be even able to create ninjutsu powders. This is more up to those high crafting JP buddies of yours who could pump out items like a sweat shop. :p Also you could look on one of my posts either on here which gives some of the recipes but I still need them tested.
