I know its sad to even think about it...But i was REALLY disappointed by 11

First why would anyone play a whm, its not all that fun..and i loved being a cleric on EQ, AND you most have a WHM MOST!

So after spending 10 hours LFG and getting one...only to find out that i cant join becuase i dont speak japanese D: and waiting another 4 hours to get a whm that will start a grp with me...Sigh

I cant spend 14 hours everyday LFG ....i spent an hour on other games, something is seriously wrong when you cant get a grp in that much time....I even tried being the WHM to get the grps going but man...i suppose on other FF games i always underlooked the WHM, and the tatics used , dont get me wrong i used them oh hell did i use them

Just one persons, who thought he was a fan boi opion

Just give it some time, not everone that can't speak JP is into cahracter yet. It takes at least 10-15 hours in this game to get somewhat aquinted with it(in my opinion). I know how hard it is to group up, and i agree. But it's only been out for a couple of weeks.

You may want to switch servers. I hear there is almost an over abundance of white mages on Fairy.

Anyway, yes I agree with you to some extent. Finding parties can be difficult especially if you're just another monk or warrior. I don't know what to say but that it can't be helped because not that many people want to play the white mage job.

Personally, I played beta as a white mage and I had the most fun with it. Sure it is hard to solo but I can almost always find a pt within seconds! And people seem to remember white mages and who they are. I'd get tells everyday as soon as I get on to join their team for an xp pt.

If this bothers you to a high degree, why not even take on the white mage job and show everyone who's boss?

"I even tried being the WHM to get the grps going but man..."

Switching server is a good idea (sorry Carbuncle D:)

If it serious is normal to wait 10-15 hours to get anything done with this game, then i cant play..dont have that kind of time, cept on weekends...Oh well Thanks for posting guys, just trying to get my angry out so i can actually play what i love so much

I'm a whm and am enjoying it.

The fact that there's not enough WHM I think is because many people believe the way you believe....
First why would anyone play a whm, its not all that fun.. It's not true and WHM in this game has part to enjoy... It's just your way of thinking that is reducing the fun for everyone :P

That's so true. I dunno why but a lot of people seem to feel this way for some reason. Being a white mage actually has a lot of perks and I think the reason for this is because our job entitles us to be supporters in every situation. This lets us take advantage of many things such as easily finding a pt, easily being able to ask someone for help in a quest/mission, and most of all easy to ask someone for a gil donation. I never asked people for donations but if I trekked somewhere to give a raise, they would almost always offer me something out of courtesy.

People remember white mages because were the backbone to any team. I seriously I have no idea why a person who hate the white mage role.

Yeah, Fairy is in desperate need of more whm's.... I waste so much time trying to find a whm and only see one once every 3 or 4 days

EDIT:

Please no more RDM for Fairy.... I see them more then warriors, blm, whm, and mnk combined...

midgardsormr seems to have a lot of active english players at night... at least enough that it's not too much of a hassle finding a party to hook up with

Sarkiss, not to be obnoxious, but I was just wondering. You said you can't play with the folks who speak Japanese, and you clearly don't speak English. What language group do you have to play with? What is your native language?

Just curious.

Beh.. I'm a white mage and it's damned fun.. I keep my party alive - my decisions will make or break a nasty pull..

Had a very very bad pull today and due to my commands and very nice timing on the groups part - we pulled it off.. Probably my most exciting game moment ever.

It's really a great class.. If you're saying it's boring, you're most likely playing it wrong >=D

HOURS to get a party as a WHM? Sheesh, I jump all over a WHM if I see htem in the the same region, and it's still hard to find one.

Not to mention the fact that it has huge amounts of lag at night, only proving your point further.

Is the lag actually that bad as in you start skipping and gets kind of frustrating to move? Or would it be minor lag..as in with large amounts of ppl in one zone??

hey Jei Im In Levaithan BTW. In Leveathian the San dorain ppl arouind the area are DYING for a WHM in grp. Since im a redmage and dont get CUre II till next lvl (14) I am subbed for a WHM. The most u see is either WAR or MNKs. Ive only seen 3 WHM (not including the lvl 70's JP players) and 3 BLM's and a few thiefs. In our server We need WHM! WHm are important so stik wit it.

If you're having trouble getting a whm, go to Windurst. There are always plenty of whms at windurst. In fact, it's quite rare to see a pt of 6 that doesn't have 2+ whms.

Be patient, don't forget that the NA only released for about 2 weeks.

Now most ppl.. well 90% are still basic jobs so you will always see war war war mnk mnk war mnk thf whm rdm whm war war war war war .. when you type /sea all 10-15 inv.

However, whm are still.. the easiest basic job to find a pt right now.. I was in the real hell lving up war from 1-30. I made all my pt straight to lv30 cuz i knew there was no single way i could get invited as a war.. lol

Well, what i mean is giving NA players a lil more time (I am saying this to those war who can never get invited too).

Once ppl get advance job, the numbers of ppl playing basic jobs will be a lot less, so it will be a lot easier to get pt for anyone (lots of whm will become blm, brd, smn).

I started on the fairy server on october 29th, and i dont know if its just me or what but the whole japanese/english thing doesnt seem to be a problem. In the 3 weeks that i have played,
"over 7 days total play time" i have only seen maybe 10 messages of japanese text. it seems like 99% of the bastok population is american because all the japanese are off doing bigger and better things. there are plenty of white mages and plenty of groups welcoming warriors and monks. i dont see what everyone is complaining about!

Mark my words Midgard will change into another Raggy  everyone likes this server as for the whm problem it's nothing to be bored about your just playing solo and it can be a a pain at times cause you can't deal that much damage ^^; So wait till you go to Valkurm Dunes There is always a Whm needed there.

Sorry i just dont see the lag most of you are getting. Even with a download and upload goin in the background im running smooth with the lone exception of the area of the auction house. I think thats more system lag from having so many chars on screen at once more then a connection lag.

I'm in Bastok on the Phoenix server. I have found that most of the people I talk to speak english. Occasionally I'll have a Japanese party member, but we work things out even though we don't talk a lot. I haven't had a hard time finding parties. Just go to areas where people want to party. I'm at Selbina looking for subjob items and it's pretty easy to party up around there.

I started out as a WAR and mostly soloed till I got to lvl 15. I didn't have too much trouble finding PTs because I never actually looked for one, so when I did join one, it was mostly by pure chance.

I decided to switch to WHM to help my brother (who had just bought the game) lvl up too. That's when I noticed that almost every single non-WHM character that passed by me either checked me or asked if I wanted to join a party. Couple that with the fact that I like to assist people who are in trouble in the field with Cure and you have one heck of a big friends list.

People always think of you fondly when you are a WHM and have teamed up with them before (since you basically kept them alive), so when I decide to switch back to WAR later on, I'm sure I won't have trouble partying up with the people on my Friends list :) Kind of a I scratch your back, you scratch mine kinda of thing.

Also, don't ever let anyone tell you that being a WHM is boring. No way. It rocks!

Sabre... you are on Phoenix at Selbina and you have no problems finding groups and you don't see many Japanese players..? I'm at the exact same location doing the exact same thing as you with the exact same class on the exact same server, and...

Whenever I do finally get a group (Never easy), as I know basic Japanese and can translate hiragana/katakana, I'm always stuck as the group translator (Very useful for learning more, but also extremely hard due to my limited knowledge, and definitively not speedy). I haven't found a single group with only English people (or Japanese that knew English), and the limited communication means that parties never last very long. I just hope you'll have more success than I do at getting that skull!

Either way, on the topic itself... Going Whm yourself is definitively a good idea. After level 11 there's always a need for more Whm.

But then we also need more War too... I don't know if it's at the times I play or if it is our server that is that way, but isn't there an incredible lack of Warriors on Phoenix? It's often even harder to find someone with Taunt than it is to find a White Mage. There's a huge overabundance of thieves however...:(

Do a search all there are quite a few whms. Their is usally more whm then thfs,or mnks in the area. I see very few blms. But their is always way too many wars. but maybe its just my server. The reason it feels like their are no whms is because very group wants at least one healer so they are always in groups.

When i get on a get a invite in pretty much 10-20 mins, but half the time i just leave them cause they suck.

A friend of mine on Fairy who started in Windurst told me that there are many white mages on that server. However I'm sure the stats may be different depending on which nation you're at.

that could be it, over in Dunes not vary many WHM in the area. They are all on the Windhurst side. Same for all servers I imagine. though did a /sea all and /sea all WHM and ration is like 10-15 % at the times I checked for WHM

There are definately Japanese players at Selbina. I was talking about around Bastok, because most are at lower levels. However, I have seen that most I have partied with around Selbina spoke english. There was a real nice Japanese WHM hanging around Selbina curing people that were being chased (me being one). I don't know if I see a bunch of thieves or not. I seem to be pretty popular around Selbina because of treasure hunter. I just got my sub, so I'm happy to leave that place for awhile.
