Sound problem/Sound lag

anyone else experience this?
sometimes the sound just hacks up and the music starts over and the sound dissapears then
5-10 seconds go and all the sound that happened betwen those seconds come all at once
iv turned music of cause of this but its still annoying and is sometimes ruining the game experience for me :(
anyone know a possible solution?
oh and this is not a Send or Receive problem since iv had it happen both at 98 receive and
+700 receive (Send is stable at 150~)

my specs are

1,8ghz P4
ati radeon 9800 XT
soundblaster audigy player

I had a similar problem with the game. The music would consistantly skip sections of the songs. It made the game sound real bad. This problem extended all the way to the playonline viewer.

I think the cause of the problem for me was that i re-installed the operating system after installing FFXI to fix other problems, but it seemed to create the sound lag problem.

Fortunately, I came accross a cheap version of XP Prefessional and upgraded to that (i was using windows 98 SE previously). After the upgrade, everything seemed to work great!:)

Bottom line: did you change/reinstall operating systems recently, Evilhuman? If so, you have the same problem I had, and a re-install or update of drivers should help out.:spin: :spin:
