I am thinking about joining a crafting guild, but I doubt I will have time to do more than one. I am looking to join one that will give me the best benefit trhroughout my life as a blm. Does anyone know which guild gives blm the most utility. I was thinking cooking, alchemy, or clothcraft. The only thing about clothcraft is it won't be used as much. You can only have one outfit on, whereas you can use lots of potions and or eat lots of food. Anyone have any advice for me?

Alchemy is supposed to be very useful. I mean the ability to make Ethers and other curative items is very valuable for a Black Mage. After all being able to heal your MP in battle is excellant and your HP even more useful seeing how you cant heal with spells and if you are in a battle not being able to heal could be dire. Also Sewing would could make robes and other Mage armors but to go with that they suggest Gold Working. I am working on goldworking but as for Sewing and Alchemy I have found no recipes.

gamefaq.com has some good guild recipes guides... I printed out the first 15 lvls of each one... and i'm in Bastoc... but I currently can only do like 3 guild things because of limited item pick ups...

Hello,

I think Cooking is best for all Mage, particularly for new player.
Alchemy is also good, but huge gil is needed to up your skill.

Cooking need less gil..especially if you grow ingredients by cultibation.
Pies will up your int and MP,Juice will useful quick MP recoverly.

And choosing guild will depends on which country you live.
Windurst have Cooking and Weaving and Bone craft and fishing guild,
San dOria have woodworking and Smithing Guild,
Bastok have Smithing and Goldsmithing and Alchemy Guild.
