Why cant i move in-game?????

I jsut got in the game, and i have finished talking to the first computer, now i cant move, all it does is text. I havent chaged teh controls or anything, help!!!!

you use the number pad to move (up, down, left, right = 8, 2, 4, 6) or left click and hold the mouse. or you can even go to config and change it to compact mode, so you can use the WASD keys to move around like in a shooter game.

btw reading the manual helps a lot, lol
