FFXI-3113 Protocol Error??

hello...i've seem to have a problem connecting to FFXI..play online works fine..with no probs..as far as connecting...but then wheh i click play on FFXI..it plays the intro and everything..but when it trys to connect it stops at "Setting up Connection" and gives me "FFXI-3113 Protocol has timed out" i don't know how to get by this...i have a router.. SMC Barricade..or something...but i disconnected it and connected the dsl right to my computer with no router..and still has the same problem...any ideas how to fix?? i would greatly appreciate it...sux not being able to play =(

My comp specs

PIII 800mhz
256DDR ram
Geforce 4ti 4600
and on a DSL connection

could it be my network card?? do i need drivers? i have a LNE 100TX fast ethernet adapter
