Something really bugging me about ingame US retail

After playing the importer version for half a year and finally getting my hands on the US retail versions here are some of my thoughts.

At first when I logged on I thought I was in a new server. (CaitSith) Sandoria South AH was empty, hrm.. ok. But as I played I saw what was on the corner of my screen a person on a chocobo. Checked to see if any lvl 60's were on and yes.. there was quite a few.. 24 to be exact. Now this doesn't bug me much considering I have been importing.

Played a while and actually found party.. they were low lvl so I decided to join to mess around with. All but 2 spoke english, and the pt leader desperately trying to communicate with him ( don't think he knew about the tab translations)I tried changing my text typing to kata/hara so I can speak with them only to find out that my fear has just became true. You can't, *EVIL MUSIC*.

What does this mean? I have to you the bloody tab menu translation. Why does this upset me? I can't speak small talk with a japanies gamer like I use to. I have to you romonji that makes my already broken japanies even more jacked up.

They honestly should have kept switching texted styles in the game... no idea why they took it out.:(

By the way.. The tab menu translations SUCK! :biggrin: they got things like
" sightseeing "

" i just used it"

very small frases.. Most only 3-5 words long.

But besides that... FFXI still rocks as much as it used to.. if not more

This annoys me too. I don't know if Square have any intention to fix it - maybe we could "help" them on a bit.

If you really are desperate for them to add this. It might be worth trying a petition and I'll send it to my Square friend.

For the record, I'm pissed off too.

I sent some e-mails since the beta suggesting they should put IME system in the US version : ( Guess I can only keep sending them more and more mails to them.... SE-usa are just lazy

Grr... I'm having trouble finding the post or topic with the Search button, but I remember seeing someone give a mailing address for the people in charge of localization of the US version. If anyone else sees it, please let me know, as I'd like to write a physical letter to send there. It would have more effect than signing the petition to actually take the time to write a letterm and an automated response is less likely...
