Class switching questions

Ok. Lets say im a lvl 20 redmage main and i wnat to switch to a dragoon. WIll The Dragoon be lvl 20? If i switch bak to RDM will it be lvl 20? and with subjons t plz answer those questions thanks

Unless you've already leveled up your dragoon a bit, he'll start from lvl 1. When you switch back to RDM, you'll go back to lvl 20. Basically, levels are based on the jobs, not characters...

Nex, with all that I've been reading (since I'm new too, and can easily be completely wrong), it sounds like subjobs are handled the same way Crow just explained it for main jobs.

Ever played FFTactics? Your char may be at a high level with whatever job they've been working on, but when they switch to a brand new one, you start from scratch. This, however, does not affect the other jobs that you have worked in the past, and if n' when you switch back, they're right where you left 'em.

At least that's how I've understood it to work so far. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

So, can one be like a 60 rdm/60 bm/60 wm/60 sam/60 thief.. but of course only being able to use one job and one sub at a time.

Ogre, I believe it is feasible to get that many jobs lvld like that (though it'll prolly take a while). However when out and about, your Sub is always 1/2 of your Main when you've got them both going. So say you're 60 in everything like you said...

You decide that today, you're gonna have THF as main, and RDM as sub (just an example). THF will stay at 60, and RDM will drop to 30 (not permanently, but as long as you leave it as a sub) Maybe the next day, you wanna switch it around, so RDM will go back up to 60, and THF will be at 30.

Am I getting this right, folks? Hope so.
