Even more yet I'm gonna Double Wield 1h swords. I know Dragoons have a C in 1h sword, and they would be better with spears but I think it'll be really fun to hold 2 swords, have a dragon with you while you jump around. I don't think it'll be THAT bad. So my question is, are there major disadvantages to that setup (I.E only 1 song with sub bard, really bad damage)?
Disadvantages? lol, where to begin...
Firstly, C skill is nothing, the higher you get, the more you will miss with below A skill, so your dual wielding won't mean shit.
Secondly, you'll have no way of dealing concrete damage. What are you going to do? Fast blade?
Such a useless subjob for a damage dealer, it really is.
You'll get asked to use a lance, if you refuse you'll definitely get kicked from a party.

What in the world would make you want to be something you know will not be useful?
I mean, you're free to do whatever you please, but you can take my word that after a few lonely days of DRG/NIN, you'll be kicking yourself for wasting your time doing the ninja quest and leveling that sub up.
The only use I can see for a ninja sub would be when you want to level up your weapon skills.

I am gonna be a dual wielding psycho dragooninja with a pet wyvern!
We should get together when the game comes out!

Why would someone be a dragoon if we they want to dual wield swords? If you want to dual wield swords just make ninja or paladin or something your main job. A dragoon that uses swords is just plain stupid in my opinion.

Well, for me, I am only going Dragoon because of the Wyvern! I love having pets in games, and it's one of the best parts in my opinion. Then there's Dual Wielding, because I just like swords A LOT more than spears.
Though, if I find I don't much like the Wyvern, due to it's dying all the time and not helping too much (and since it's on a dumb 2 hour timer...) or something... I might think about giving up Dragoon for something else, like Paladin or something.
Though, it's probably gonna be awhile if I decide to, because the wyvern keeps getting stronger! It might get to a point where it's REALLY useful, and I don't wanna give up on it too quickly, or I might never find out if it does. :)
... So you're basicly going to a French restaurant and order a Tempura...
You choose a job with their lance A+ skill, just to use 2 swords? Dragoon doesn't have that high DEX, with their A+ lance they already miss quite a lot. What are you expecting to hit with your skill C Swords?
Sounds like a Whitemage/wonk who tries to punch and not healing....

We'll see, we'll see.
I am going to at least TRY it anyway...

OK! Nevermind! I just watched a video again, where a Taru Dragoon was fighting... spear looks great!!
lol I can't make up my mind, I am just thinking of everything I could do.
Now I have to rethink my subjob...

Trust me... if you're not using a widely accepted class combo/weapon... you're not gonna get any invites  It's hard enough to get invites as a "perfect" melee combo. If you want to duel wield swords, definitely just be a warrior/theif/ninja. The wyvern is always a plus, but it's not great enough to make up for the horrible damage you'll be dealing with two swords. Just go with spear... it has so many advantages it's not even funny.

If you want a pet so bad, just go with BST/NIN. It'll be LIGHT YEARS better than DRG/NIN.
And Jei, nice emphasis, with the "A+" I only hope he got the point :)

I was wondering about BST...
I was thinking of being one, but I read something about the tamed animals eventually un-tame and attack you or something. That doesn't sound like much fun to me, and very annoying.
Besides! The wyvern is so cute!

What about the other way around? Nin/Drg? would that make any difference?

Sure, you can go NIN/DRG... if you don't want a wyvern. Or A+ spear skills. Which is the whole point of being a dragoon.
Wyvern is a 2hr ability
