can i get a elvaan archer as starting job?

i was looking at all the cool elvaan archer guys, and then i saw that in the beginning jobs, there is no such thing as archer, but there is ranger in ADVANCED job classes. i was wondering how my elvaan can use bow and arrows as a beginning class job. can i be an elvaan warrior and use a bow or maybe a monk? if yes what is the best beginning job for a elvaan with a bow? sorry for all the questions, i appreciate the help! thanks!:biggrin:

The begining jobs that dont allow you to use a bow are monk,whm, and blm. (not 100% sure)

War would proabably be the best with a bow for begining job.

edit.The only way you can use the bows WS is if you have the rng job.

sorry i didnt get that last part, the only way i can use bows "WS"? sorry i dont understand what that means. do you mean i can only use bows if i have a rng?(ranger)

WS is short for weapon skill. A weapon skill is basically a special move you can use with that weapon type when you get 100+ TP.

I dont know if you know this but Elvaan have the worst dex, and thats bad if you are an archer.
Its the total oppsite of LOTR, Elvaan are probably the worst Race for archer. If recommend the Mithra, they are perfect for Ranger, but in the end its up to you.

Or he could just wear some dex boosting items if he wants to be an elvaan.

AGI is the most important stat for Ranger, not DEX.

Ya, but i still think Dex is important to the Ranger, and Elvaan have bad Dex and Agility, So i still recommend staying away from the elvaan
