How to become a ranger?

What starting class do i choose from the beggining? After that, when and how do i become a ranger? When do i choose sub-jobs and whats the best? Someone please take me through from beggining of game to becoming a ranger.

ok here is what i did,
1) i lved up my war to lv 18
2) i did sub job quest
3) i lved my new mnk/war to lv 15
4) i switched back to my war and subed my mnk
5) i lved my war up to 30 and did the rng quest
6) then i changed jobs to rng/war
7) -=done=-
IMPORTANT: lv your carpentry and boneworking as you lv your way to lv 30 to get RNG, it will make rng alot cheaper
